Job's Prayers

Job makes two intercessory prayers
The understanding of Job's trial comes in the understanding
of the differences between these two prayers

{1:5} And it was so, when the days of their feasting were gone about, that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all: for Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts. Thus did Job continually. Job 1:5

{42:10} And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before. Job 42:10

Is the prayer a custom
Or a response to prompting from God

Is it born out of fear Or does it rise from faith
Is it based on what we do Or on what God has said He'll do
Do we speak words without knowledge Or do we know Him to whom we speak
There is a great wealth in Job But often the focus is upon his great patience and suffering The "great attribute " of Job Job is not just about patience It's about faith
If your faith is little, you'll need great patience So when you pray for patience Expect the trial to come where your faith is little
One way to sum up Job is found in an answer Jesus gave "What must I do to inherit eternal life" "Believe only in Him whom God has sent"
Life's demand Believe only
We can see the truth in this when we ask What did Job believe in regard to these two prayers?
