We all know it, yet we tend to ignore it
It's the little things that make relationships work
Perhaps the reason we ignore it is we forget
Doing the little things demonstrates our commitment
We think, well I'm there for the important stuff
When's the last time you went into the kitchen and asked your spouse
"Hey, can I fix you something?"
When was the last time you called for no other reason then to say
"I just wanted to hear your voice"
Too often we think it's not important because it's a little thing
But in the sum of a relationship
The little things add up much quicker than the big ones!
God knows this and often says I love you in little ways
How often do we miss it?
He may send us a word of encouragement
A note of concern
Or perhaps just a beautiful day
How often do we notice the sun shimmering off the water?
The beauty of a sunrise
The majesty of a starry sky
The tranquility of the moon drifting through the clouds
Life goes by fast when you're focused on nothing but the big things
Why? Because your whole life is spent on those few moments that are big
But it goes by splendidly when you take your time
And pay attention to
The little things
That's the signature of love
