Times of trouble visit all of us
painful experiences, tragedies, disappointments
We live in a world full of hurt
It's understandable how we can question God when hurt comes
I can even see how easy it can be to blame Him or question His existence
I once thought, "If there were a God, the world wouldn't be like it is"
When times of sorrow come upon me I have asked, "where are you God?"
"What are you doing about this?"
{19:37} And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen; {19:38} Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest. {19:39} And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples. {19:40} And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out. {19:41} And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it, {19:42} Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes. {19:43} For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side, {19:44} And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation. {19:45} And he went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold therein, and them that bought; {19:46} Saying unto them, It is written, My house is the house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves. {19:47} And he taught daily in the temple. But the chief priests and the scribes and the chief of the people sought to destroy him,
Luke 19:37-47
God weeps when He looks at our misfortune
His heart hurts from our failure to recognize His coming to help us
We were not ready because we weren't listening to Him
We were too engaged in the conversation of our life
Too busy taking care of our business
We didn't take time to have the needed conversation with Him
God talks to us in so many ways
He speaks quietly and with subtleness
Our hearing Him requires effort and attention
Our seeing Him demands a diligent and watchful eye
The Bible says, "the Lord is my helper"
yet sometimes it appears His help is not there
and we wonder, why doesn't God do something
Actually He does
God weeps when our conversation with the world
is more important to us then our conversation with Him
He knows that is what brings us trouble
{4:22} For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad. {4:23} If any man have ears to hear, let him hear. {4:24} And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given. {4:25} For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath.
Mark 4:22-25
The world says, 'talk is cheap'
I say one conversation is priceless
Measure yourself today,
who do you spend your time talking with?
It's the difference between joy and weeping
