Rest, but Keep Moving

I want to leave a few comments about this one. God has been dealing with me on this for a long time. Today I realized it's actually been over the last several years. I hope that this lesson that has been such a long trial for me may bring fruit to your life quickly. I can only emphasis the importance of this by giving you this testimony. Over the past 3 years I have often felt as if I'm running in mud. All the problems associated with everyday living bogged me down. I looked at my job as a chore. I spent more time thinking about what was wrong around me than thinking about what God was doing.

I'm not saying we should stop thinking about what we're doing, or need to do. I am saying we need to remember to keep our eye on God. Watch for what He brings us, listen to what He's asking us to do. Take care of God's business and He'll take care of yours.

This is such a valuable message today. I look around me and I see people wrestling with their schedules. Let God set your schedule. His plans may be different than yours but I'll bet their better too.

Now I'm not saying we shouldn't be busy or that we shouldn't make plans. If we are energized with God's anointing everything will just flow so much smoother. So we need to consult with Him.

Well, I've rambled on enough. I'll conclude by saying this. I can remember only one period of my life that seemed like I was doing as much work, and during that same time I was so focused on God, I was resting in Him. And even though I was working hard, there didn't seem to be any hard labor to it.

May God richly bless you all, In Christ's name, Rocky

{8:22} Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he went into a ship with his disciples: and he said unto them, Let us go over unto theother side of the lake. And they launched forth. {8:23} But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy. {8:24} And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm. {8:25} And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him. Luke 8:22-25

Here we see Jesus in the midst of a storm
totally at peace
resting like a child
And the disciples?
FEAR, the opposite of faith

What is the question Jesus asks? Where is your faith? If it is IN God you will be at rest
It is easy to believe in God but oh how hard it is to BELIEVE God God wants us to have faith IN Him this is Believing Him Not just believing in Him It is trust, a relationship
That is why it is written: Faith works by love
and also: If you love me you will follow my words
Many listen But few hear
Now notice something else even though Jesus is resting He's still moving
Sometimes we get so busy trying to be still and quiet down on our knees diligently seeking God's face that we fail to move when He moves

{40:34} Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. {40:35} And Moses was not able to enter into the tent of the congregation, because the cloud abode thereon, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. {40:36} And when the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the children of Israel went onward in all their journeys: {40:37} But if the cloud were not taken up, then they journeyed not till the day that it was taken up. {40:38} For the cloud of the LORD was upon the tabernacle by day, and fire was on it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys. Exodus 40:34-38

Israel followed God around the wilderness for 40 years
When God moved they moved
When He stayed they stayed

For a Christian that cloud is the anointing Is there an anointing on what you're doing? How often do you sense God wants you to do something like maybe call a friend and share something with them but you put it off because you're busy then you see them next week and tell them what God told you to say and....nothing, it falls flat
What happened? You missed God's timing the anointing was there when He told you to do it not when you decided to do it so your words were ineffective
The cloud moved and you didn't
sometimes the opposite is true sometimes we get a vision from God we sense a call on our life and...we go out and try to make the vision happen
God told Israel where He was taking them but they did not succeed in taking the promised land until He lead them in
So what am I saying here
If we will tend to God's business if we will move when He moves If we will rest in His leadershipHe will cause our souls to prosper
God instructed Adam to tend to a tree and leave the fruit of it for God It we'll tend to the tree God will make our garden grow
"Cast your cares upon Him" And in the midst of the storm you'll find yourself asleep in the back of the boat because your faith is in Him
Rest in Him but keep moving with God
