Somebody Stop Me

Did you know Paul said this? Somebody stop me!

{7:19} For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do Romans 7:19

Ever get like that?
You've got something you're doing
You know you shouldn't do it
but you can't stop?
So you pray, Lord HELP, Stop ME!
Isn't that somewhat how Paul prayed?

{7:24} O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? {7:25} I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin. Romans 7:24-25

So How do we stop?

{14:15} If ye love me, keep my commandments. {14:16} And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; {14:17} Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. John 14:15-17

In Romans 8 Paul talks about being lead by the Spirit
The same Spirit that He mentions right after
IF YOU LOVE ME, YOU WILL OBEY MY WORDS

I wonder sometimes how much I really love Jesus I say I love Him I think I love Him But do I always obey?
What's more we find that obedience is a central issue in the blessings and the curse blessings for obedience curses for disobedience
We also see this....

{1:1} Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God, {1:2} (Which he had promised afore byhis prophets in the holy scriptures,) {1:3} Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh; {1:4} And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead: {1:5} By whomwe have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name: {1:6} Among whom are ye also the called of Jesus Christ: {1:7} To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the LordJesus Christ. Romans 1:1-7

Obedience comes by faith!
And we know "faith works by love"

But you've probably heard these things before so what's my point?
If you want to stop you need help But first you need to let the fact that what you're doing demonstrates a place where you love something else MORE than Jesus! Something has become an idol and become bigger than your love for Christ Let that break your heart! And when it does
the word of faith sown by the Spirit will lead you out of bondage
Remember this one? Do you love me Peter? Do you love me? Peter, do you love me?
Let love break your heart then love will lead you out of the dark
Amen!
