The First Commandment 



Adversity tests our integrity
but after a time we become like Job, bitter in spirit
Job did not enjoy his trial
and there always comes a point where our patience starts to run thin


Sometimes we pat ourselves on the back for our patience
when what we really have is a lack of faith
then it is good that our patience runs out
because then we start to examine our faith
and we look for where it is lacking


And in all of this God is waiting
He is waiting on us 
He is waiting for us
What is He waiting for


For us to call Him into remembrance of His covenant
for us to STAND on HIS WORD
for our faith to be established
for us to come to see this....

{1:20} For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us. {1:21} Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God; For no matter how many promises God has made, they are in Christ. 2 Corinthians 1:20-21 

So why don't we see the promises immediately
We have some things to work out
the primary thing being our faith


God wants us to operate in faith
then He can deal with us in grace 
So what are we to do?

{29:10} For thus saith the LORD, That after seventy years be accomplished at Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place. {29:11} For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. {29:12} Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. {29:13} And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:10-13 

Seek God
Relentlessly pursue Him
It is our part of the covenant
His part is to be God who provides, cares, shelters, heals....
...meets ALL of our needs


So, if you find yourself in a time of trial
if adversity surrounds you
there is only one thing to do
SEEK GOD with ALL of your HEART


It is the first commandment
