The Road You're On

The great task of a Christian is adjustment
in fact this is in all likelihood
the very thing that brought you to Christ

You realized you were out of adjustment AND couldn't adjust yourself
Paul writes

{7:19} For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. Romans 7:19

We are born into the snare of sin
and we can't stop sinning
we become servants to it as it is our master

But who will rescue me from this body of death? "Praise be to Christ Jesus"
How does Jesus set us free? We are born again and He becomes our Master as we choose to follow Him
Discipline is not about beating someone into submission it is about learning to be just like the one you're following but first you must believe them Who will follow the teaching of one they don't believe Who will become a disciple of one they won't follow

{8:31} Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; {8:32} And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. John 8:31-32

Someone asked me recently why I've been so quiet
I'm listening and learning
I'm being disciplined
and when all this is done
I'll adjust myself...again

Do you want to be freed from the snares of sin first you must see you're snared then you must want to change then you'll see you can't then you'll need to believe Jesus IS the truth then when you listen He'll speak and when you hear you will hold to His teaching and the truth will set you free
In the end there are two roads you can follow one road is a road of bondage and decay, the road to death through sin the other road is a road of change and growth, the road to life in Christ choose this day whom you will serve
