Turning Point

We face many turning points in our lives
Places where if we continue on in the direction we're headed
Things could get worse
But if we will turn

We seem to know these places Yet often we refuse to turn Could it be so hard to turn
Often in these turning points a deep sorrow comes over us Not a regret, not a sorry we were such a way But a Godly sorrow

{7:9} Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing. {7:10} For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. {7:11} For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehementdesire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter. 2 Corinthians 7:9-11

Even still it is hard to turn
We're wounded
We see many of the wounds are self-inflicted
And those that aren't
are likely in response to our behavior towards others

Why are there so many turning points? Because each is another place that needs to be broken Another place where God can heal us
Why is it so hard to turn? Because we can't see how God will heal us In fact He won't let us see Because He wants us to have faith that He will heal us Coming to that faith is itself a turning point

{9:18} While he spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live. {9:19} And Jesus arose, and followed him, and so did his disciples. {9:20} And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment: {9:21} For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole. {9:22} But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour. {9:23} And when Jesus came into the ruler's house, and saw the minstrels and the people making a noise, {9:24} He said unto them, Give place: for the maid is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn. {9:25} But when the people were put forth, he went in, and took her by the hand, and the maid arose. {9:26} And the fame hereof went abroad into all that land. Matthew 9:18-26

Do you sense you are at a turning point?
Stop trying to fix it yourself
Stop trying to avoid the sorrow
Embrace it and have faith
Let God turn it around for you

For it is in these turning points that we see we are weak Yet God's grace is strong In the sorrow that comes from God you will die if you are willing Then He will raise you to life again
It is like the Garden of Gethsemene A time of horrific wrestling in your heart The agony of accepting the painful truth Yet God transforms it into the glory Of the Resurrection
Turning points are places where we can continue to slide slowly into death Or they can be places where we die and God transforms them into life
The cross is the perfect symbol of Christ It is the turning point of mankind It is where God turned death into life
