The Online Missouri Death Index has moved to:
http://members.xoom.com/NettieMae/index.htm
I urge you to visit the COUNTY PAGE also. There are links to the Missouri GenWeb counties, several cemeteries and the Tombstone Inscription Project along with several other useful sites. I invite you to send me your listing of any items you may have in which you will do look-ups regarding deaths in Missouri or your web pages that have Missouri death or cemetery info on them.
If you
would like to have your deaths listed here, please send me the
person's Name, City and/or County where they died (you can
include the cemetery), the date and Spouses name.
If you would like, you can send me your gedcom file and I can
extract the info from it.
My email
address is Nettie Mae.
You can submit ANY death info that you have collected.
If you have stuff that you have saved, but doesn't go to your family, let me list it so perhaps it can help someone else. I can list your email address as someone to contact or I can put the source of the info (for example the name of a book).
TELL
EVERYONE ON THE LISTS THAT YOU ARE ON
TO SEND IN THEIR
INFO!

This is not any kind of 'official' listing, only a compilation of info sent to me by others along with my own info and that of some cousins. While it is not perfect, I feel that it could benefit others researching in MO as there seems to be no official death index. This is basically how I arranged the information sent to me:
NAME: I used the name submitted to me. Sometimes it is the maiden name and sometimes the name the person had at the time of their death, so for females, it would be a good idea to check both married and m aiden names.
PLACE OF DEATH (formerly CITY/COUNTY ): I first used this column to enter the place of death and burial site. As of March 26, 1999, I have added a CEMETERY column. So--this will be place of death OR what ever info was submitted to me. If you would like any of your submissions chang ed to reflect this, please let me know.
CEMETERY: This will, of course, be burial info.
SPOUSE: This is mainly a reference so you c an better identify whether the Thomas Davis listed may actually be Your Thomas.
SOURCE: At this time I have either listed the email address of the person who submitted the info or the name of where the info came from (i.e. such and such newspaper). I would like to make it as easy as possible for you to find the death info on people who have died in MO. My concern here is that as people change email addresses, the information on where it was obtained will no longer be available. Any solutions?
