Once again the Angel of death has entered out midist and taken E J (Bud)
Bradshaw to his eternal rest.
Enoch Jackson Bradshaw was the son of Wm and Nancy Ann Bradshaw and was
born in Putman County Missouri, May 31, 1871 and departed this life at his
home 12 miles south of Stover, Missouri, February 18, 1932 being 60 years 8
months and 18 days old at death.
When four years old he came to Morgan County and spent the rest of his
life here. The deceased professed faith in Christ and united with the
Christian Church several years ago and lived a consistant life to the end.
He was married to Nannie Slonaker November 13,1900. No children were born
to this union, but they took an orphan boy into their home and reared him
into manhood. Mr. Bradshaw had been in failing health for a year, about four
weeks ago his condition grew rapidly worse until the end came to relieve him
of his suffering which he had boene with fortitude.
He leaves to mourn their loss his wife, two sisters, Mrs. Martha Braden
and Mrs. Mary Ford and a host of relatives and friends. He will be sadly
missed in his home and community.
ISOM CAIN SMITH
Isom Cain Smith was born March 10,1871 in Benton County, Missouri. His
father and mother, Issac and Ellen Wallace Smith, died when he was a child.
He made his home with his brother, William Smith. After his brothers death
he helped to rear and father his brother's children.
He had lived at Bowen the last 23 years of his life. He leaves two
brothers, Albert Smith of Clear Fork and Fair Smith of Stover, one sister,
Mrs Kate Miller of El Dorado Springs, two sister-in-laws, Mrs. Kate Smith of
Bowen, and Mrs. Mary Jane Williams of Sedalia. Also a number of nieces and
nephews.
Mr. Smith united with the Shilo Christian Church in Morgan County Missouri
when he was a young man. He was in fairly good health until September 20th
he was stricken with paralysis while at work. He died September 22nd. He was
a kind uncle to his many nieces and nephews and will be sadly missed by his
friends and neighbors, whom he loved and enjoyed being with.
Memorial services were conducted at the Funeral home at 3 p.m. Sunday by
G L Weidman, minister of the Windsor Christian Church. Mrs. Weidman sang
"Death is Only A Dream" and "Does Jesus Care" accompanied by Mrs L R Milam.
Burial took place in Laurel Oak Cemetery.
Mrs. Nannie Bradshaw
Once again the Angel of Death has entered our midst and claimed for His
own, our beloved friend and neighbor, Mrs. Nannie Bradshaw.
Nannie Slonaker was born in Virginia in 1869 and at the time of death was
67 years and about two months old (date of birth not exactly know by
writer). Deceased was united in marriage to E J Bradshaw in 1900. To this
union no children was born.
She went to Kansas when a child and came to Morgan County when yet a young
woman. She had no own living relatives here.
Early in life she confessed faith in Christ and united with the Christian
church.
Mrs. Bradshaw was a good neighbor and friend, loved by all who knew her.
Her husband passed away February 18, 1932.
She will be sadly missed in our community
MARY A BRADEN
Mary A Braden was born April 21,1845 and died November 27, 1930. She was
the daughter of the late Boone and Emeline Campbell, and was born and reared
in Morgan County. She was the wife of William Braden, who passed away April
29,1911.
The deceased was the mother of eight children, whose names are as follows:
Mrs. Emma Smith, Boylers Mills; Mrs. Mary M Smith, Sedalia; Mrs. Melvina
Heard, of Zora; Elwood Braden, Fair Oaks, Calif; Charlie Braden, Maricopa,
Calif.; Mrs. Ruth Wands, Long Beach, Calif.; and Mrs. Effie Wands, Chicago,
ILL. and Lee Braden, with whom the deceased made her home the past 19 years.
She was a member of the Big Buffalo Church. Besides the sons and daughters
she leaves to mourn her earthly departure, 41 grandchildren and 44
great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at Shilo Church, Sunday, by Rev.Butts.JOHN SCHNIRCH
John Schnirch, son of Joseph Schnirch and his wife Francis, nee Stobor,
was born August 29, 1893 in Vienna, Austria. He passed away in the Veteran's
Hospital in Kansas City, Mo., May 20th, 1957, having attained an age of 63
years, 8 months and 21 days.
In early infancy he was baptised in the Roman Catholic in Vienna. In 1896
his father came to the United States and a year later sent for his family
and they settled at Old Stover, where the father was employed in a
blacksmith shop. The deceased was then in his 4th year and when he was of
school age he was enrolled in the St. Paul's Lutheran School. On May 31,
1908, he was confirmed in St. Paul's Lutheran Church by Rev. William Ludwig.
The deceased continued in membership with St. Paul's until his death.
While in his teens he sought employment in Northern Michigan and
Wisconsin, and then followed the wagonmaker's trade in Detroit, Mich., until
on March 29,1918, he enlisted in the U.S.Army and served until Jan. 26,
1919, in the Quartermasters Corps. He was a member of the American Legion at
the time of his death.
On April 10,1920, he was joined in holy wedlock with Anna Albers, which
union was blessed with four boys and five girls, who survive. For about a
year the couple made their home in Detroit, Mich., after which they returned
to Stover and purchased a farm northeast of town, where they resided until
1948, and since then in Stover, where the deceased was employed by various
people for odd jobs.
Those who preceded him in death are his parents, four brothers: Carl and
Joseph (twins) August and Robert who served the Lutheran Church Mo. Synod as
a pastor: one sister, Maria at age of 2 years.
Those who remain to mourn his death are his beloved wife, Anna; the
children--Victor of Versailles, Raymond of Kansas City, Kan.,Norman of
Warrensburg, Edgar in the U.S. Air Force, Irene Hodges of Texas, Jean
Johnson of Walcott,Kan., and Betty and Helen of the home; 17 grandchildren;
one brother William of Windsor,Mo., two sisters, Ella Fischer of Stover and
Anna Fischer of Salina,Kan., as also a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted in St. Pauls Lutheran Church on May 24th,
the Rev. J.C. Schedler conducting the service and preaching on Hebr. 9:27.
Interment was made in St. Pauls cemetery under the direction of Stevinson
Funeral Home.
