MRS. JOHN COWELL
  Funeral services for Mrs John Cowell were held at Shilo Church nine miles
southwest of Stover on Friday, Sept. 9th. Rev James DeLong conducted the
services. Burial was in the church cemetery.
  Mary Elizabeth Cowell, daughter of Joseph and Mary Campbell, was born
December 14, 1866, and departed this life Sept. 7,1949, attaining the age of
82 years, eight months and 33 days.
  On July 11,1900, she was united in marriage to J A Cowell.
  She is survived by her husband, also by a daughter, Mrs Lee Braden, by a
step-daughter Mrs Arva Smith and by a half sister, Mrs Maybelle Allen of
Versailles,Mo. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren,ten greatgrandchildren
and many other relatives and friends.

MRS H.C. BRADEN
  Funeral services for Mrs H.C. Braden who died Saturday, were held at
Shiloh Church Monday.
  Mrs Paralee Forth Braden, the daughter of W.H. and Emma Forth, was born
Oct. 11,1885, at Duroc,Mo, and departed this life at the familly home eight
miles south of Stover, Sept. 10th, 1949, at the age of 63 years, ten months
and 29 days.
  On December 22, 1902, she was united in holy matrimony with H.C. Braden,
at Zora, Mo. To this union three sons were born, one preceding her in death.
  Mrs. Braden became a member of the Christian Church of Shilo in 1907. She
was a kind and loving mother, a devoted wife, a wonderful neighbor and
faithful member of the church, always willing to lend a helping hand.
  Besides her husband, Mrs Braden is survived by a son Herbert,of the home;
a son, Everett Braden of Crescent City, California,; one sister, Mrs. L R
Braden, Warsaw, Mo., four brothers, Tom Forth of Edwards; Henry, Fay and
Hugh Forth of Warsaw, and four grandchildren. She leaves many other
relatives and a host of friends.

SERVICES FOR MARION BRADEN
  Funeral services for Marion Braden who died suddenly at his home in Stover
Wednesday evening of last week were held at Stevinson Funeral Home Sunday
afternoon, Rev Wayne Weaver officiating. Burial was in Shilo cemetery, south
of Stover.
  Mr Braden was a son of the late John and Martha Braden. He was born south
of Stover November 22, 1880, and resided in the Riverview community until
about a year ago, when he sold his farm and moved to Stover,
  He was married to Miss Freebie Smith on September 7, 1902. To this union
two daughters were born, one of which, Elvie, preceded her father in death.
  Mr Braden is survived by his widow and one daughter, Mrs Zelma Bucks of
South Gate,California. Also surviving is one brother, Lee Braden of Sedalia
and two sisters, Mrs Minnie Jackson and Mrs Zella Critton both of Garden
Grove, California.

ARVA W SMITH
  Arva W Smith of Stover, age 67 years, died at Bothwell Hospital in Sedalia
May 22nd. He had been a patient there nine days.
  Mr Smith was born in Morgan County October 6th, 1891. He was married to
Miss Maude Cowell on April 15,1941. The Smith home for some years was south
of Stover on Minnow Branch. They moved to Stover about ten years ago. Mr
Smith was able to be about town until recently.
  Mr Smith is survivied by the following sons and daughters---Arva Jr.,Reed
and John Smith of Stover, Raymond and Delbert Smith of Sedalia; Mrs Louis
Abbott, Mrs Norman Fischer, Mrs Ted Bealer, of Stover; Mrs Felman Marriott
of Bunceton; Mrs John Shoemaker, Gravois Mills.
  Surviving sisters and one brother are--Mrs Feebie Braden, Stover; Mrs
Elizabeth Smith, Mrs Lora Miller, Mrs Pervie Braden and Frank Smith, all of
Sedalia.
  Funeral Services were held at Stevinson Funeral Home Monday of this week,
Rev T.D. Jennings pastor of Assembly of God Church of Stover officiating.
Burial was in Stover cemetery.
