CORD-WRAPPED HAT ORNAMENT

 

MATERIALS

3" straw hat
1 5/8 yards burgundy cord
10" of 1" white gathered lace
1/3 yard of 7/8" mauve/gold wire-edged ribbon
1/3 yard of 3/8" burgundy/gold wire-edged ribbon
1/8 yard of 1/8" flat gold braid
tassel
wire, low temp glue gun and sticks

INSTRUCTIONS

Glue lace around top outer edge of hat. Glue end of cord over edge of lace. Wrap and glue cord around hat brim and crown. Glue rows close together so hat is completely covered. When cord reaches center of hat crown, pierce a hole in the straw with a pencil. Push end of cord to inside of hat and glue. Glue gassel to lower edge of hat. Make a 2-loop bow with wire-edge ribbon and wire to hold. Glue to bottom edge of hat. Make a simple 2-loop bow with 3/8" ribbon and glue to center of large bow. Glue loop of braid to top of back of hat for hanger.

CORD-WRAPPED BELL ORNAMENT

 

MATERIALS

2" gold liberty bell
1 1/2 yards of cream cord
1/4 yard of gold trim
7/8 yard of 7/8 " gold lame` ribbon
1/3 yard of 1/8" flat gold braid
Low temp glue gun and sticks

INSTRUCTIONS

Beginning at lower edge of bell, glue end of cord to bell. Wrap and glue cord around the bell, keeping rows close together so that bell is completely covered. Glue gold trim around lower edge of bell. Thread braid through top of bell and knot ends together. Glue knot to top of bell. Cut ribbon in half. From each length, make a simple 2-loop bow. Glue bows to top of bell. Using 1/8" flat gold braid, make hanger loop, tying through top of bell.
