JESUS, THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD

This is my page dedicated to inspirational poetry. I wrote this poem a little over a year ago, and although it's a poor example of poetry, it speaks from the heart. Jesus IS the light of the world, and I've always loved lighthouses because they serve as such an inspiration. I truly believe we are to be reflections of His light unto others!

An Old Rocker

A man sat down one day, after a long day of work, Thinking long and hard about the trials and tribulations, and troubles that lurk. He took a deep breath and gave a great sigh, And continued to rock with a tear in his tired blue eye. It was a boat on an ocean's stormy sea, The waters were rough, as anyone would agree. But he knew there was a lighthouse somewhere in the stormy deep, A promise made long ago, but it was sure to keep. The boat had not been built to brave the waters alone, It needed the brightness of a lighthouse to guide it gently home. Although an old ship, withered and worn The strength and truth of that lighthouse had made the ship anew and reborn. The boat started to gently sway, And the man knew the worst had past, For he saw the tower in the distance and a light gently cast He knew it would sway again sometime in the future, but he would hold fast, The tower was with him, which meant the land would soon be in sight, The night may be dark, but the morning was sure to be bright.
