Free Directory Sites
These sites act as Directories to Free things on the web. Some give ratings of the sites they find and their free services.
- The Free SiteThis directory is pretty neat. It offers information on everything from Webmaster freebies to prank freebies. It's definitely worth a visit.
- Cool Free Samples This page has information on free sweepstakes, contests, magazines, kids' stuff, software, travel, and more!

Free Webspace Servers
- Fortune CityThis, of course, is the site that this page is hosted on. It's really a nice server for a personal home page. You get 20 megs and an excellent editor and uploading system, as well as your own Real Name address. Mine is Kansas Sundowner, and a free web-based email address. If you have a Real Names enabled browser, try it out!
- Free ServersThis server offers 20 megs, and a custom subdomain address. See http://moonmage.faithweb.com and http://comicartgrl.iwarp.com Their banners are embedded by the server at the tops of your pages. You get unlimited email addresses. They also have a nice editor and upload system. Also, they claim no content to member pages and actively advertise this.
- SpaceportsI haven't personal used this one, but it sounds like another good server for personal pages. You get paid for hosting their banners on your site, which is more than most do. They claim to have less restrictions over the content of their members pages. They do not have an online editor, but they give you 10 megs to start with free, and you can request 10 megs more at a time for free as needed. They offer unlimited space free, but this is really recommended more for people who are advanced in HTML, and utilize FTP on a regular basis.
- CrosswindsThis site is great for the personal page or business page. The main bonus is of course, no banners. There have been instances of people have errors during sign up at times when the server was really busy, but all in all a good place.
- Dencity.comThis site is a haven for the artist, writer, poet, or creative person. I've been told that they do not force you to place banners on your site, either.
Webmaster (and Webmistress) Freebies
Okay, so you've built your website.. now what? Here are some links intended to be helpful to the Webmaster or Webmistress. Best of all, they are FREE resources. (Also check out the Free Site link towards the top of the page.)
- Hitbox.comThis site claims to be able to increase the quality and quantity of your site's traffic. I'm planning on testing this service out and posting my findings here, so check back here later!

Free Site Submission.com I just tried out this service. It's supposed to submit your to 5000 Sites. That's pretty good statistics, if even a fourth of those sites bring in traffic.
- Extreme TrackingI'm sure you've noticed the little black image on the top of my main page with the blue ball that has a ring around it. That's my Extreme Tracker. It gives me or anyone who wants to look a detailed description of the number of visitors to my site, when they came, and their statistics, like what browser they were using. It's a very cool service.

Freeware Sites
Please note that some of these sites offer shareware instead of just freeware, but they tell you whether or not it has a cost tied to it.
- FreewareThis one has a collection of totally free software and Internet Service
- Kids Domain This page is totally safe for kids (and grownups). It offers free game downloads, contests, and reviews.
- ZdnetNot all of the programs listed at this site are free, but quite a few are. If you sign up as a member, you get Zdnet exclusives that no one else can download. The great thing is, especially when it comes to software that Microsoft or Netscape (others, too) has put out for free like fixes, etc., Zdnet takes them, runs thems, tests them, and modifies them to where they work better.

- The Etext ArchivesThey offer access to electronic texts of all kinds. They say their mission is to provide electronic versions of texts without judging their content.
