 Cemetery on the Mount of Olives This is the Jewish section of the cemetery on the Mount of Olives. You will notice that some of the tombs have rocks on them. This is not by chance. The Jews place stones on the tomb much the same way we place flowers on ours. There is a Christian section also. These cemeterys face the eastern wall and gate of the city. It is believed that Jesus will enter the city by the eastern gate "Golden Gate" and that the dead in Christ rise first.
