Isbell's and Yates Families

Rebecca Yates born 1792, married Thomas D. Isbell, born October 27, 1792,
Halifax County, Virginia, son of George Isbell and Mary Daniel Isbell.
Rebecca Yates was named for her mother, Rebecca Ragsdale Yates.

Thomas D. Isbell and Rebecca Yates Isbell left Robertson County,
Tennessee, around 1839 and move to Newton County, Missouri. Six of their
seven children were born in Robertson County , Tennessee prior to their
migration to Missouri.

Thomas D. Isbell died August 8th, 1855 in Newton County, Missouri.
Rebecca Yates Isbell died August 1, 1866 also in Newton County Missouri.
Both Thomas and Rebecca are buried in Mound Chapel Cemetery, Newton
County, Missouri. John Isbell, Rebecca's oldest son and oldest child
settled his mother's estate nameing the heirs and where each of the heirs
resided. Adison H. Brown and J.C. Marshall were appointed by the Newton
County, Missouri, Court "to accompany John Isbell, Administrator of
Rebecca Isbell." Rebecca Yates Isbell and Thomas D. Isbell had seven
known children. Mary was bron in Missouri.

Issue:

John Isbell, born around 1819, Tennessee, married Nancy J. Wormington,
May 30, 1839, Barry County, Tennessee. They had two known sons.  George
W. Isbell and  James Isbell.

Nancy Isbell born September 10, 1820, Tennessee, married John WEems,
August 18, 1836. Nancy Isbell Weems died November 12, 1906, Newton County
Missouri, and is buried in the Macedomia Cemetery, Newton County,
Missouri.

George Isbell, born 1824, Tennessee, married Morning W. Medley. They had
three children. 1. Lucinda Isbell born 1813, Kentucky, married Addison H.
Brown, born 1787, Virginia, 2. Martha Isbell, who married John Carter
Marshall,  3. George Isbell Jr., died March 1900 and is buried in the
Brown Family Cemetery.

There has to be a mistake on the above information regarding the dates
and children of George Isbell and Morning Medley Isbell. The above
information says that Lucinda Isbell was born before her father.
Therefore if this is part of your direct family I would suggest you use
this as a stepping stone and follow up researching the information
yourself. Do not take it for face value.

Thomas D. Isbell, born 1826, born in Tennessee, and married Rachel S.
Wright who was born in 1827 and was the daughter of William Wright.
Appears in the 1850 Newton County, Missouri, however not listed in the
1860 Newton Co. Missouri census. They had 5 children all born in
Missouri.

William Isbell, born 1830 (according to 1850 Newton County Census

Nancy Yates born 1794, Tennessee, question remains as to whether or not
Nancy wa born in 1802. Sje married Theophilus Morgan, Robertson County,
Tennessee. Nancy is listed in her mother's estate in 1847, Robertson,
County Tennessee.

Theopilus Morgan left a will making wife, Nancy, and son R.B. Morgan
guardians for his children, Willis, Mary Ann, Matissa, "and when Sara
becomes 21 years old Iwant my property didvided--my land to youngest
sons, R.B. and Willis Morgan, and the remainder divided between children
of Ritter Morgan Hudson, Miles Morgan, and Nancy Morgan Reed."

Nancy Yates Morgan died November 1880, with yellow fever, in Shelby
County, Tennessee. They had 8 children.
