In the Name of God Amen       October 7th 1775, I James Isbell being in perfect health and memory do make constitute and appoint this to be my Soul Will and Testament, 1st I leave my Soul to God who gave it and my body to be buried in a decent and orderly manner at the Discretion of my Executors and after paying my Lawful debts, I leave my worldy Estate to be disposed of in the manner and form following that is to say Item. I give and bequeath all the residue of my Estate  to my beloved sister Mary, the wife of Isaah Moody and constitute and appoint Isaah Moody and Mary his wife and James Guilliam to be sole Executors of this my last Will and Textament.

At a Court held for Charlotte County the third day of February 1777 The within written last Will and Testament of James Isbell dec'd was exhibited in Court by Isaah Moody one of the Executors therein Named and same was proved by the oarth of Henry Isbell one of the Witnesses hereto subscribed and ordered to be recorded on the Motion of the said Executor who made oath according to Law, probate of the said Will is granted him Lawful Security whereupon together with James Guilliam has been presented and acknowleded to be brought for that purpose Reserving
