My Son

Matthew's Oct. 1998 Pictures

Matthew, whom is now 13 years old with dark hair and blue eyes, is my son. He now is in Seventh Grade at Caravel Academy in Delaware. After school, he used to attend Karate 2-6 days a week where he, earned his Blue-Black Belt. Although he has not attended Karate for a while, we are hoping he will, since his next belt to be earned is his Black belt. He also has been attending cub scouts several times a month. He is Boy Scout. During his first 3 years, I used to care for him mostly during the day, when my wife Linda, his mother was working. In preschool, at The Learning Circle they taught him things like, all the days of the week as well as all the 12 months and his full name, address and phone number.  He had known for a while things like the whole alphabet, numbers 1-100, all his names and how to write them and more. In Kindergarten they added more science, and many other projects.  First grade continued where Kindergarten left off as well as did second and third grades at Caravel.  Last at Caravel he took part in the schools chorus and band. Each year they participate in competitions in Hershey PA. One year they were part of the Boscov's Thanksgiving Day celebrations in Philadelphia.  On his own he uses the computer.  And will probably go into web design or other technical fields like graphics when he gets older. He also taught himself how to write in script during the end of Kindergarten and does very well! True, he is not suppose to do that until the end of 2nd grade or later. But that is Matthew always trying to learn more! Though I can not see him all day like before, I still get to do and see a lot of him. It is great to see him learn and advance as he does and as fast as he does. It is very gratifying.

Computers
I started using computers in my business to help me with my paperwork. My interests then lead to telecommunications and education. BBS' is where I learned more about computers and gained knowledge in other areas as well as a place to make many new friends worldwide. The Internet continues this and widens the possiblities even more, with web surfing, e-mail, web page design and web maintenance. It has allow me to do many things with the computer including consulting, training, and repairs in the New Castle County area of Delaware. Presently, I work for a local mail house using the computer as a Data Analyst preparing client mailing lists for USPS barcoded mailings.

Photography
I have always had an interest in photography, starting with black and white photos and doing my own developing at home. My interests got stronger, especially after taking several courses in college and later working at Olan Mills as a studio photographer. I hope to use and learn digital photography one day, even more now since I now have a digital camera. You will find many of the pictures through out this web site are my own orginal photographs that were scanned. And coming soon some of those I have taken with my digital Camera.

The Arts
My interest in the Arts, further developed after living in central Europe, Switzerland, for 5 years. Travelling, while there, allowed for visiting many Museums and other fine art sites throughout Europe and the US and to see many different art forms, paintings, pictures, graphics and mediums. While going to school in the Boston, MA area I took architectural classes which increased my interests in older historic buildings.

The Internet
This has been used as an extension of my interests in computers and to further expand my knowledge. It also has allowed me to further communicate with new and old friends and classmates worldwide through e-mail and ICQ and other chat systems on the Internet. It has also allowed me to learn about the internet, HTML, web page design and web maintenance. And recently allowed me to know about my high schools 40th Anniversary plans. And to contact old friends and classmates from the internet and exchange storys and family pictures.

Blue Diamond Pic Computer Related Courses
I have finished taking the correspondence PC Repair course. It took me alot longer than I hoped and thought that it would. I did do very well with about a score of about 80. I also now have completed online classes for Web Page Design and graphics. There were 5 classes that will taught me MS FrontPage2000, Adobe Photoshop, CGI, Java and much more. So I can begin doing better web pages. I also have been trying to learn more about Internet Marketing so the web pages I do can get the proper traffic they deserve to be successful.

These classes in Web Page Design will help me so that I can do more. My many connections, including the one at DelaNET, Inc, has helped me with that training and experience. Thanks for the help from people like Donna, Jeff, Joe, Brian and Lars. They have shown me much, like HTML, graphics, and much more. I have gained and learned much for them. I do, however, have much more to learn, and I hope with there continued support and help I can learn much more. I also like to thank those that have allowed me to work on there web sites as this has helped as well, Thank You.
