"Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up." Deuteronomy 11:18
P. K. Academy
Hi! Welcome to P.K. Academy. What does P.K. stand for? Preacher's Kids! My husband is a pastor and this is our homeschool page. We homeschool our two children Jonathan and Hannah. Jonathan is in fourth grade this year and Hannah is in second grade. This is our fifth year homeschooling, and we have loved every minute of it. We made the decision to homeschool long before we even had children. We knew that public schools would not teach the values that we wanted our children to learn. We also have seen families dictated by the peer pressure of their children in school. The children had to have the most expensive clothes and be involved in all the popular activities. We didn't want that for our family and we knew that through homeschooling, there would be no peer-pressure and we could teach our children the Christian character traits that we wanted them to learn.
We use Patchwork Primers Unit Study Curriculum. This is a great unit study curriculum. This year, we are going through American History. ALL subjects are woven together so we can all learn together. Our first six weeks was a study of native American Indians. Our second six weeks was all about the explorers that came to the New World. This six weeks we are studying Colonization of the New World.

I am creating this page to serve as a source of encouragement to those of you already homeschooling and those of you considering it. It is a wonderful experience and I wouldn't trade it with the world. If you have any questions or need more information, I would be happy to help in anyway that I can.
