Aliana
Aliana's jovial stature stands almost five feet in height and can best be described as sylphid.  Effeminate and delicate in shape but neither gaunt nor emaciated in form, her slender frame bears a creamy-white complexion that contrasts nicely with her long brown cascading hair.  Aliana's heart-shaped face is amiable and refined, featuring small lips and natural contours that exemplify idyllic harmony.  Her eyes are of a vivid blue color, flanked by short eyelashes and possessing a rather resplendent sheen.  Adolescence has begun to change Aliana from a girl to a young woman, most noticeably by the slight disproportionalities of her arms and legs.  Her body is gifted with subtle curves and one day she may be rather comely, but right now she would be much more accurately described as adorable rather than sensuous.  Her voice is a low sophrano, rich in timbre but untrained and flamboyant at times.
The threads of simplicity, practicality, and comfort were woven together to create the white sisal dress covering Aliana's body. The bodice features full-sleeves and completely covers her chest and midriff under its protective veil yet is remarkably free of frivolous embellishment. It is as if someone splashed a great big cloth over her body and molded it around her contours. The skirt shares the same simplicity of the bodice as it extends down to her shins in cascading layers, light and loose to give her freedom of movement. To complete the gown, a soft harper-blue ribbon encircles Aliana's waist, tied together behind her with the ends tepering down towards her feet and a simple knot is worn outside the sleeve of her dress, indicating her status as an apprentice harper. Aliana's feet are adorned by furry sandals, the decoration such that it appears the girl's feet slip underneath giant seashells.

Gameroom
Braided rush carpets pool over the gameroom's stone floor in blobs of cheery sage yellow, providing some protection against for weyrbrats with bare feet that run through every so often. The large room is equipped with quite a few trestle tables and benches to provide seating, each table the jealously guarded preserve of a wing. Dartboards line the one wall, small chips next to them telling tales of riders with less than steady aim. Over in one corner a small chest rests, receptacle of quite a few packs of playing cards. A constant muted hum of voices emanate from the archway leading to the Living Cavern, heady aromas wafting in on pleasantly cool air.
From here you can go:
Lower Cavern's
Aliana walks in from Lower Caverns.

Aliana takes a peek as she passes on her way back to her room, and sees.. Cymri!  Sneaking up with dazzling grace, she tries to sneak up behind the girl and cover her eyes.

Cymri is just sitting on one of the benches, lost in her own thoughts, so it isn't hard to sneak up on her at all.  At the sudden capture, she stiffens, startled, and promptly tries to twist her neck 'round to see who's just ...attacked her?

Aliana giggles. "Cymri!", she calls cheerfully as she allows the girl to turn around and see her while Allie uses the excuse to hug. "What's on your mind?"

Shocked, mildly annoyed, and slightly fearful expression fades instantly into a smile as Cymri sees who was behind the attack.  Still a little too slow to quite return the hug in time, she chuckles, and teasingly reprooves, "Aliana!  You scared the wits out of me."  See, she doesn't mind admitting it /now/.  "I don't believe there's anything left on my mind just now."  She gives an exaggerated pant to prove her point.

Aliana giggles. "But you seem soooooo preoccupied, dear.  Ususally when someone's sitting like that they're thinking of something.. .nice?"

Cymri looks away, pale blush lighting her cheeks, "Yes, actually, I was."  She flicks her gaze back, somber, "But you mustn't tell anyone."  And she leans forward, confiding, "I'm was confused just now, because G'min and I talked last night.  I mean, we talked about things he would never discuss back when I ..." She trails off, blush resurfacing, and chooses a different end to her sentence, "Back when we first met."

Aliana whispers softly, "Why.. I won't tell anyone, you have my harper's honor."  She leans close so the girl can confide and whisper. "What did you talk about?", she asks with her eyes looking towards your shoulder.

Cymri looks more directly at you, calming again.  "He just told me about the things that happened in weyrlinghood to make him so ashamed."  She smooths back a stray length of hair, tucking it neatly behind one ear in a slightly nervous gesture, "It wasn't anything romantic or taboo, but still..." She flushes, smiles, "He was open about it this time."  And apparently that meant something to this WeyrTrader.

Aliana giggles. "Oh, Cym... you're so sweet, I doubt he'd ever say such things to me... actually, I'm not even sure if G'min likes me, but.. ooooh, I'm so excited."

Cymri shakes her head, blush heightening, and demurs, "No, not at all!  He's just finally accepted things.  I doubt it had anything to do with to whom he was speaking."  Then, frowning curiously over at you, she asks, "But why wouldn't he like you, Allie?"

Aliana smiles tenderly and gives Cymri a kiss on the cheek. "Because.. he, well.. I only met him once, and.. I'm not sure if he remembers me at all."

Cymri tries not to look surprised by the little peck, but it's still fairly clear she's not used to spontaneous displays of affection.  So her answering smile is that much softer.  "Oh, I suppose that might explain it, if he just doesn't really know you."

Aliana nods and then settles down on a nearby seat. "I wish something /that/ exciting happened to me, but these last couple of days have just been spent trying to read and understand some books.. I haven't had the chance to go out and chat like I wanted to."

Cymri turns along the bench, smile turning bemused, "I have missed you...It seems everyone is reading lately.  Were these books for harper duties?"

Aliana nods gently, her arm moving to support her head as she looks at you. "Yes, a little about drumming and some review and notes about teaching."  She sighs, not of exasperation but of contentment

Cymri just clasps her hands in her lap, but your response apparently piques her interest anew, "Teaching notes?  Are you helping teach, then?"

Aliana chuckles. "Not harper classes, but the children... its one of our duties and one of the ones I enjoy the most.  "I'd rather be talking with riders, though," she adds with a soft giggle.

Cymri would to.  Wry grin twisting her lips, Cymri shakes her head, "I can't imagine teaching the little ones.  I don't think I'd have any patience for it, myself."  But then her head turns a little to the side, studying you thoughtfully, "You do seem quite interested in riders just now.  Or, should I say, in any person eligible for love?"  Hands fidgeting absently, she smiles, "Is waiting really so bad?  Things are ever so much easier without complications, you know."

Aliana turns red, very deeply. "Cymri!  How could you be so silly like that?", she asks with a warm, confiding voice. "Of course I'm not thinking of that, hon, I'm much too busy for love, and the craft just wouldn't approve."  She looks down at her lap, still red.

Cymri shrugs elegantly, then leans back again, "Of course not, Allie.  What /was/ I thinking?"  It's rather hard to tell if her gentle words are serious or not, "Of course an apprentice wouldn't even dream of things later down the road.  But!"  She grins, hands clasping again, "Tell me more about how that's going.  How are the duties besides teaching?  There must be enough of them, if you haven't been able to slip out for a good conversation with me lately."  She's apparently decided to just tease her way back into grace.

From afar, Aliana giggles.  What ever made Cymri think about _LOVE_? =)  Actually, Allie thinks of it a lot.. its her hormones, silly girl.
You paged Aliana with: From afar, Cymri laughs.  It was on Cymri's mind, so she projected it onto Allie.  And she and Aliana did have that talk a month or so ago, about love. :P

Aliana is still rather rosy but she does look to you again, appearing fragile. "Well, um.. I think they're okay.  At least I'm keeping up with them.  Everytime I fall a little behind, I start to sleep less and less and then I'm miserable."

From afar, Aliana giggles. Well, that's because Allie is a fairly open girl in general, and she certainly doesn't mind confiding love with Cymri.

Cymri clucks softly, reaching forward to pat your hand, "Oh, you shouldn't do that, dear.  Sleep really is so important for your health."  But then, Cymri's generally not following her own advice, try as she might.

Aliana asks curiously, "How much sleep do you usually get.. per night?  You seem to be so busy during the day, 'cept for time for talking with riders." =)

Cymri blinks, removing her hand to prop it beneath her  chin as she considers, "Well, it depends on if I have to travel out of the weyr.  Those days, I hardly get any sleep, but... when I stay here, I'm normally up about the same time as the second shift of riders.  And, well, I go to bed early if I can."  So she defends herself, then admits, "But often I'm up long past many of the others, going over hides, or being lured into conversation with those riders," Her eyes dance, teasingly, before she continues, "Or perhaps listening to what particular bauble somebody needs me to find..."

Aliana giggles. "Baubles?  That's a scary thing, Cymri.. I remember as a candidate how dark and foreboding those storage rooms are.  Idris said there were many tunnelsnakes and stuff hiding inside!"

Cymri shivers, "Thank Faranth I was never assigned to hunt the creatures."  Yes, that would remove her calm quickly enough.  "Candidacy...that was certainly a 'different' time, wasn't it?" She smiles, "We met so many new people."
