Deinha
Logs
* This is my very first bit of RP with Deinha. She meets Riko and Coriianna, and they go off riding runners. Short, cute, and a nice intro to Starmount Weyr.
* Shortly after going to Starmount to visit her cousin and prepare a dress, Deinha is asked to Stand for the current double clutch. However, she'd have to break off her betrothal to do so -- with the option of reinstating the betrothal afterwards (and Handfasting as planned), or possibly Weyrmating should she Impress. The temptation to Stand, and curiosity, convince Deinha to go ahead and say "yes." But first, she declares, she must talk to Valien.
* Well...maybe she doesn't get to talk with him, but she certainly gets her betrothed's opinion! Read this log to find out what happens, and thanks go to R'ken for being a darling and RPing this all out with me.
* The Hatching Day comes! Or, as it happens, the Hatching Night. Either way, the candidates are swept out to the Sands, where they huddle and wait to see who Impresses. Many candidates come alone, and many leave with a new lifemate. The roster includes seven new PC pairings in all from two separate clutches.
From Khavrineth and Matrith's clutch we welcome G'rett and blue Gurgith, Myca and green Eilanth, Shannon and blue Faravoth, and O'kano and bronze Jharzeth. Khavrineth's theme for eggs was night and day, while her clutch was designed off various characters from the Lloyd Alexander Prydain tales.
From Krysanth and Anceth's we welcome Cor and brown Khanueth, Kaeralla and green Amentith, and Deinha and gold Sebayeth. Krysanth's eggs were themed around the desert and the ocean, and the hatchlings were drawn from Egyptian inspiration.
* Into the Weyrling Barracks we go... Itchiness keeps not only Deinha's days, but also her nights occupied, with Sebayeth constant itch. But that's okay; there's always oil, night or day. And sometimes there's company at night, as well -- even if it is O'kano. Always one to reserve judgement, Deinha takes the opportunity, sleep fogged as she may be, to ask Puo just why he doesn't get along with people. And Sebayeth and Jharzeth speak as well, wondering in their dragon ways, about these human puzzles.
* Deinha brings her mentor, Tamial, something of a Turnday request. And ends up confessing to C'drel the truth of her 'fiance fiasco.' What a night ... morning ... whatever.
* Surprise, surprise: Deinha knows not how to swim. Read this log to find out how she gets a lesson for her Turnday.
* Myca and a pushed-too-far Deinha have a confrontation with O'kano. Faranth help us all!
* Of course, we all knew Deinha couldn't just confront O'kano in so harsh a manner (in her eyes, anyway) without promptly apologizing. Thus, we have a log from the next morning...
* Time for a Weyrling Lesson...Today's Plan: Dragons have their first attempt at hunting. Poor Deinha and O'kano find the whole process rather ... disagreeable.
* And here's a lesson Deinha may never forget. Pern beware, this mating Flight lecture results in a very upset young goldrider.
* And the upset continues! Deinha speaks to O'kano about the Holdbred perspective on Flights and such.
* ...And continues! This time, it's to Tamial that Deinha turns. Surely her mentor can give her a good goldriding perspective?!
* Her mind filled with thoughts and worries and normal Sr. Weyrling lessons, Deinha is distracted by a curiously unsigned note. In the end she rounds up O'kano to help her solve this mystery -- what results is a lengthy, rather emotional talk in the tavern, much to both adolescents' surprise.
* While Khavrineth goes up in a mating flight, Deinha and Sebayeth are temporarily exiled at Azov. Who should come along, but O'kano and bronze Jharzeth? Read what follows as Deinha offers Puo some help with his ..err, curent predicament ... and the pair finally comes to an agreement -- after Dei admits that her motives are actually a shade less than selfless. Log incomplete.
* It had to happen at some point! Sebayeth goes proddy, Deinha gets picky, and a flight ensues in this, the maiden flight of Starmount's youngest queen. Chasers included Starmount's own bronzes Anceth, Tamlinth, and Jharzeth, as well as browns Nasmyth and Shepoth, and also the visiting brown Brendaith of Azov. An even bigger surprise than the flight itself, for Deinha at the least, is the rather unexpected winner. OOCly, Thanks ever so much to J'kan, K'rian, O'kano, R'ken, T'ela, and K'zandir for participating! It was a long, long, lovely flight -- and a very difficult one for picking a winner.
* Later in the night, Deinha wakes up...with R'ken, rider of brown Nasmyth, winner of Sebayeth's flight.
* Naturally, O'kano wasn't very happy with the results of Sebayeth's maiden Flight. And he made no attempt to hide this displeasure -- in fact, he was quite cruel about it. After something like four sevendays of being avoided and snidely insulted, Deinha is especially not-happy. And, finally, O'kano goes too far! An upset Dei confronts him, yet again, and a certain, shaky resolution follows.
* Uh-oh. First, Deinha talks to Tamial about how she is just not feeling well lately, even though there's no longer the stress of having Puo "hate" her. Tamial has an interesting suggestion. Log incomplete.
* Then, on Tamial's urging, Deinha visits the healers. Next comes a scary talk with Puo.
More logs coming soon!
