The "Texas Unofficial History Group" is composed of a loosely knit group of Texans who are interested in Texas History and Genealogy and have web pages that feature those subjects.
The “Texas Unofficial History Group” was started after a friend of mine was trying to inform another "Genealogist" about the extensive information on one of my web sites about a particular Texas community and the county in which it is located. He quickly informed her that it didn't make any difference what information someone else's site had, because his “Gen Web” site, for the same county, was the only "Official” web site for that particular county.
We are not as pompous or egotistical as an "Official Site" that believes the information on their pages is written in stone. We take pride in the fact that if we discover a different version of our "facts", we'll check it out. If these new facts can not be disproved, there is plenty of room on our web pages for more then one versions of the same event.
We encourage all visitors to our sites to submit any new or conflicting information, links to similar sites and both compliments or criticism of the site you are visiting. We would also love for all similar sites to be linked in the group with ours.
