Introduction
Hello to
all the wonderful mommies on the web! I'm so glad you decided to
visit! Let me first say that this is a group for ALL moms. That means
stay at home moms, working moms, married moms, single moms, red moms, blue
moms (whoops, read one too many Dr.Suess books!) Being a mother is
a tough job, whatever your status!!
History
I created Mommies on the Web
on March 19th, 1998. I had been on the internet for 3 months and had been
lucky enough to make some very good friends. I can't tell you how
great it was for me to be able to turn on the computer and find someone
to share stories, advice, support, etc. with. Once I decided to take
the plunge and create my own website, I knew that I wanted to create one
that would offer that same kind of support to other moms. And so,
Mommies on the Web was born.
I've received so many letters
and made many new friends since creating the site. I had received
such a great response that I felt it was time to take it one step further.
The
Community
I'm so pleased to announce that
Mommies on the Web is now more than a website. It has now become
a "Mommy" Community! I'm encouraging every mom visiting this site
to join our community.

guidelines that our members should follow in order to make the MOW Community
a peaceful place. Before deciding whether to become a member, visit

| MOW has created several counsels
(committees) which help our group run more smoothly. Many of our
members have volunteered their time to serve on these counsels. Visit

| The most important part of our
community is our members. These are the most wonderful moms you will
ever meet, and have dedicated themselves to offering support and friendship

is a dedication to all of our members celebrating special events. Melissa
posts the events monthly, including email addresses, so that we can all
send them a "special gift." |
| This page has been created to
keep our members informed of the Special Events we have going on in the
group. |
| There comes a time when we need
our fellow members. Whether it be an illness, death in the family,
fire, or any other kind of disaster. The members of MOW stand beside
one another through the good and the bad. Visit our Mommies Comfort
page to receive important info you will need in case of an emergency, and
see special pages created for our mommies in need of comfort. |
| You know your child is talented,
now it's time to show the rest of the world. Each week we will be
showcasing one of our children's creative works. |
| Made especially for our crafting
mommies, this page contains crafting ideas submitted by members.
We will be including adult craft projects as well as kids projects. |
| Our mommies are saving big money
at the grocery store, and have now formed the Coupon Traders Club. The
members of the Traders Club exchange coupons through snail mail, and have
also begun a Coupons Robin. Want to learn some of my secrets for
saving with coupons?? Or would you like to find out how to join this club?

| MOW has created a great way
for our members to build up a wonderful recipe library, with the Recipe
Round Robin. We have a round once a month. Each member sends
in a recipe based on the theme for that round. Once all the recipes
are received, the counsel compiles a list of the recipes and sends it to
all that submitted one. Are you looking for new recipes? This
is a great way to get them. This is for MOW members only. |
| Mommies on the Web is doing
everything they can possibly do to make a difference in the world.
We believe when mommies unite, great things can happen. In an effort
to make a difference, we have added Mommies Angels. These are members
who have taken a vow to try to do one good deed each day. Something
that will help someone, ease someone's pain, or just make someone smile.

| Our Members are searching for
people who have made a difference. People who have gone the extra
mile to help out others. We will be showcasing these very special
people on this page. We've also created a page for our members who have
made a difference. |
| Many of our members have created
special gifts for Mommies on the Web. This is the page we use to
display all of our gifts. |
| Each month, MOW will award the
Mom of the Month award to a deserving MOW member. One that devotes a great
deal of time to MOW. |
| Would you like to lose a few
extra pounds but just haven't been able to do it by yourself yet?
Now MOW can help. By joining the MOW Weight Loss Center and Support
Group, you will receive a weight loss buddy, be a part of our weight loss
mailing list, and get all the support and tips you need for losing weight. |
| Help us to congratulate all
of our members expecting babies! Visit our expecting mommies page
to see who the next mommy will be to have a baby, and to sign any baby
books that our members have made. |
