With his mother and two brothers, they emigrated from South Carolina
to Appling county, Georgia about 1825, after his fathers death in England
in 1820. They located onlot of land 317, 6th district, where she lived
until her death in 1846.
Rhoda Carver Hargraves is buried in the Hargraves cemetery near
Bickley, Ware county, Georgia.
Abraham Hargraves inherited quite a lare amount of money from his
Uncle Abraham's estate in England, which he brought home in gold
and kept in his house. He was already a prosperous farmer with a
large plantation in the northern part of Ware county. A detailed account
of the English inheritance is given in Mrs. John L. Walker's
"History of Ware County, Georgia" pp. 389-393

BARNWELL DISTRICT SOUTH CAROLINA
Personally appeared John Cleland and Abraham Brown before me who
being duly sworn on the holy Evengelist of almighty god saith and
their oaths that they were present with Mr. Henry Harrison late
of this district on the 15th inst the day on which he departed this
life and heard him say that he desired a certain negro girl named
Jede which was deeded to his daughter Nancy, deceased, should be
given to his youngest daughter Molly Harrison.
Sworn before me this 17th day of January 1818.

in 18--, leaving a small estate of personal property. Petitioner
married Elender, daughter of deceased. .....Mrs. Kirkland died
without issue and that he is entitled to one half of her shares.

John was born in Beauford District, South Carolina, April 30,1823. He
was married in 1852 to Martha Googe, born Sep. 4,1830, in Beauford
District, daughter of John and Sara Googe. Soon after the marriage
he and his wife came with her parents and his brother, Thomas Harrison,
and his wife and two children, when they all moved to Appling county,
Georgia.
John lived near the line of Pierce and Appling counties and
until the last years when he sold out about 1890 and moved to Pierce
county where he lived until he died Dec 11,1890. His wife died Aug.
26,1904. They were buried at the old Youmans cemetery now known as
the Davis cemetery about 5 miles from Blackshear on the Alma highway.
