What is the Mission of The Alliance?

We are dedicated to the emotional and informational support of bereaved families who have suffered a SIDS tragedy;  we are dedicated to the education of the general public and health professionals regarding SIDS;  and we are dedicated to the ultimate elimination of SIDS through research.

What Do We Do?

We operate a two-state toll-free HOTLINE,  utilizing SIDS parents and professionals on a one-on-one basis with callers.
We offer peer grief support groups in both states.
We disseminate a wide assortment of SIDS risk-reduction,  research-related materials,  SIDS Survival Guides and other grief packets,  and a quarterly Newsletter.
We sponsor fundraising events to raise dollars for SIDS research.
We promote Community Awareness through public speaking,  newspaper articles,  programs in the media,  health fairs,  training of First Responders and daycare providers and informational ads in the NC Baby Guide Magazine.
We maintain a small lending library of books on Grief and Loss.
We coordinate special events,  including our Annual Candlelight Memorial Service to remember babies lost to SIDS and the importance of their lives.
