Note for: Edmund Littlefield, - BEF 11 DEC 1661 Source: History of Wells and Kennebeck pg 73-76 Edmund probley came to wells from exeter in 1641. He was a member of the church of Rev. John Wheelwright. He was a member in 1630 in exeter. and had 21 acres asigned to him. He is not on the list of those driven from the coloney of Mass. We infer that he may have arrived at Boston in 1638. Before the expeltion took place. Anthoney and Him traveled to America First. The rest Followed later. They took passage to boston on the Bevis, of hampton. Capt. Tounes, in May 1638. Source:Genealogical Dictonary of maine and New Hampshire pg 437 Edmund came to 1st to boston with oldest 2 sons. wife Annis age 38 and 6 children and Servants John Knight and Hugh Durdal foll. in the BEVIS in May 1638 from tichfield, Hants, England where they were living.( N.E. Reg. 67,343) Moved to Wells before 14 July 1643, when Thos. George granted him 100 acres adj. the mill and the neck of marsh between that and Webhannet River. There he had a saw and gristmill. Will 11 dec 1661. Fam. Compromise sign Dec 17 by Son Francis sr,his mother, sons Thomas and Francis jr. inventory dec 24.
