Sunday 10 February 2002
Let me wish everybody a Happy New Year! I want to also congratulate the Junior Griffons on their new website! Take a look at it at http://www.geocities.com/jgdnd . There is also a public forum at this site at which you can discuss "matters Griffon"!!

REEF CON 2002 :  Reef Con 2002 has been booked with the Asia-Pacific RPGA Network. It will be held this year over the Queen's Birthday Long Weekend - from the 8th - 10th of JUNE. That gives us THREE BIG DAYS to GAME! Not only will we be playing Living Greyhawk & Living Force, but also Call Of Cthulhu d20 and "Dawn Patrol". We will give you more information about the big days soon. Keep that weekend FREE! :-)

LIVING GREYHAWK GAME DAYS 2002 :  We will be having ONE game day per month this year. Game Days will be held on the last Sunday of each month at Trinity Bay State High School (Upstairs in D-Block). From the front carpark, D-Block is the second last block in the school towards the back oval. You'll see a big D-BLOCK sign on the wall. Game days will be held in Rooms D6, D4, D3, D2 and D1. At our first game day (Friday 1st March at 7pm) we will just be playing ONE Living Greyhawk scenario. This is because we need to switch your characters over to the NEW LIVING GREYHAWK RULES. They are simple, but it will take a bit of time. After that, we will discuss whether we play one or two scenarios per game day. Each Living Greyhawk session now runs for 4.5 hours (with an extra 30 mins for paperwork added). That's 5 hours all up. Games should get underway at 7pm and finish at 11pm. The cost for playing each scenario will be $3.00 per player.

Sunday 29 September 2001
ReefCon was a HUGE success!! We had over 30 people at the convention, and it was a great time! Thanks goes to Boyd Theime, Joseph Schibberas, Robin Farnsworth, Sue Allen, Bruce & Antigone Paris. We are still finalising RPGA spreadsheets, and I will post the names of the winners, etc, next week. Thanks also to fantasy writer Martin Middleton (who dropped by for a chat), as well as our sponsors (Laser Tag, Harvey Norman, UbiSoft and LucasArts) !! You guys rock!!! Drop on over to the ReefCon Photos Page while you're here. Watch this website as our gaming schedule GROWS! Also, don't forget that Bruce Paris is on leave until 29 October 2001. There will be no Junior Griffons games until *after* he gets back.

Sunday 9th September 2001
Numbers are on the rise for this year's ReefCon 2001. Get your entry forms in quickly! Thanks goes to our sponsors (so far...) Lasertag Far North Queensland.
Rumor also has it that a world-famous Fantasy/SF author will be stopping in at ReefCon ...Mmm ...
We are also in the process of negotiating a deal with a well-known shop down south so that we can offer a few stalls selling D&D and d20-related books, dice, etc ant the convention. Looks hopeful!
Don't forget, Junior Griffons are playing through Vortrote's Legacy (D&D Living Greyhawk) on Tuesday afternoon.

Sunday 2nd September 2001
The DMs are starting to play through the various scenarios set down for ReefCon this week, and afterwards discuss various strategies. So far, we have 7 DMs (7 tables for 49 max players). Again, if you're out there and you can give us your time to DM, please contact us!! :-)

Sunday 25th August 2001
Look for more posters and brochures going out this week to bookshops, music stores and  university shops around Cairns and Townsville! If you haven't yet registered for ReefCon, now's the time to do it. Also, if you can DM for us, remember the bonuses!!! Contact us if you can help - please!!!

Sunday 14th August 2001
This week saw the Junior Griffons conclude their August round of Game Days. They played through "Pots Of Knowledge", and much fun was had by all.

Sunday 8th July 2001

Countdown to ReefCon! It has now been confirmed that anybody attending ReefCon who is not yet a Fellowship Level member of the RPGA can join immediately and play scenarios at the convention. Of course, we prefer you to join at Guild-Level beforehand as that way you'll get all the goodies associated with Guild-Level membership. :-)

Night Of Steal (the premiere scenario at ReefCon) has been playtested, and is in its final editing phase. The scenario is currently designed for Character Levels 3-6 (Tiers 2-3).

Sunday 17 June 2001

Junior Griffons!  This week saw two teams of the Junior Griffins complete their first Living Greyhawk scenario. They played "Pig Tales" by Mark Somers in the inaugural JG-GameDay. Many thanks also to Tim Porter who helped DM one of the teams! Thanks also goes to Trinity Bay State High School for the venue! The next JG-Game Days are scheduled for Tuesday 17th and 24th July 2001 from 3pm - 5pm.

New Web Site!  As you can see our new web site is up and running. Not only will this help local Griffons find events, but it will also provide information to people everywhere about what is happening RPG-wise here in Far North Queensland, Australia. The site also provides lots of goodies and links for role players in the club. Check out the Recommended Sites and Downloads links above to get the latest FREE stuff for D&D and Star Wars on the internet! Check back here each week to seek what else has been uploaded for your gaming pleasure!
