Your Individuality & Personal Space
In every relationship the people involved need some amount of personal space to maintain their own individuality. Often times, when a couple gets into a relationship, one or both of the partners stop doing things they'd normally do if they were not a couple. Has this happened to you? Or, have you noticed this has happened to your partner? If it's your partner, help them find themselves again by encouraging them to do things you know they like doing. Also, give them more opportunities to have personal time and space to hang out with friends or whatever they want. You both will appreciate the freedom and find the time you spend together will be more romantic. If this is happening to you, try a few of the steps below to begin finding your way back to being you and being a better partner!
Write down a list of everything you love to do. For example, reading, watching sports, going hiking, etc. Whatever your personal interests are.
Now cross out everything on your list that you still do since you've been with your current partner.
Read over what's left. If there are quite a few things on the list, circle the things you'd really like to start pursuing again.
Now make a commitment and a plan to start doing these things. Make it point to have, at the very least, a few hours of personal time a week away from your partner, kids, etc. Planning exactly what you are going to do and making an appointment with yourself to do it is very effective.
Your Spontaneity
When was the last time you and your partner did something out of the blue? How often do you spontaneously say I love you or let your partner know how you feel about them? Do you give them a kiss or hug for no reason? Hold their hand in public? If you can't answer these questions it might be a good idea to take a look at the following resources.
