A Romantic State Of Mind
by Jennifer Good
Romance is not just a one time thing you do every couple of weeks to show someone that you love them. It is a state of mind. In everything that you do and say you are showing how you feel about your partner and life. Sometimes being romantic and loving just takes giving a little token of acknowledgement to your partner. Sometimes it's a little bit more. But there is one thing that will always hold true, if you take the time to notice and show your partner that you do, you will reap the benefits with a more loving and communicative relationship.
Below are some different ideas to help add a little spark in your relationship. You can always embelish on any of the romantic ideas... Remember the more creative you get with these the better the results will be... :) :)
Make it a Movie Night at Home... :)
Get two of your's and your partner's favorite movies, some popcorn, pizza, and candy. Lay out a few blankets, pillows, candles, and burn some incense to set the mood. P.S. If you have a fireplace use it... that helps too.. :)
Chores of Love
Make a coupon book filled with chores or items that your partner dislikes doing and let them redeem one per week as desired.
Create a love basket
Get a basket, bowl, or bag and fill it with papers that have different romantic ideas on it and once a week both of you choose one paper and on a preset night do the romantic idea. Remember don't tell your partner what it is until that night. :)
Make your bedroom a romantic paradise.
Take a weekend with your partner and completely redo your bedroom to show your ideal romantic situation. Some ideas to consider:
Candles and plants to liven the place up
String of lights to use instead of your current lighting
If you have oils and things keep them somewhere that is easy to get to
The effect you should be going for is a romantic haven. It is very hard to be romantic in a cluttered environment so if nothing else just organizing and cleaning the room should make a world of difference.
Dream Date...
On a piece of paper both of you and your partner write up your dream dates and exchange them. The first week you do your partners dream date and the next week s/he will do your yours.
What is your partners favorite meal?
Set up a romantic dinner around it. If you can't cook it... get take out or go to a resturaunt that has it.
Make it a dessert date...
Instead of going out for dinner... make an evening of dessert.. :) Go to a local ice cream parlor or favorite 50's diner.
Make dinner together...
One of the best dinners to make as a couple is pizza. You can either make your own or make each others. There are lots of different and fun spin offs of this. Be creative!! :)
