"The most romantic memory I have is of the day that my current boyfriend asked me for a commitment (i.e to be his "steady"). He took me out to dinner and then decided it was nice enough for a walk on the beach. About halfway down the beach, he got down on one knee, and pulled out a ring box. We had only been seeing each other for about a month, so I was floored. There was a slip of paper in the ring box that read, 'Will you be my girlfriend??' The suspense almost blew me over." -Kathy

"It is nothing big and spectacular, but I remember a small romantic gesture made by my boyfriend on Valentine's Day. He had no money whatsoever, and apologized over and over again about not being able to get me anything. I was fine with it. But when he came over that night he had a huge handful of flowers he'd picked from both his neighbors and his garden, wrapped up in paper he had decorated himself (little red love hearts had been drawn on with crayon), and was singing Brandy's 'Have you ever?' to me." -Brooke Schuberg

"On our 30th anniversary, on my way home from work I stopped by a deli and picked up 2 sandwiches, fruit, and a bottle of very good wine. I met my husband at home when he returned from work and we went to the beach. We had our 'dinner' and enjoyed the rising of the moon on the waters!!! This was in February and is the most memorable anniversary for both of us! We have now been married for 43 years - and still love the beach at night!!!" -Ann

"Making love with the man in my life this past Christmas (1999) in front of the fireplace with dozens of candles lit up all around us, I can still see it as if it was yesterday." -Cherie Rose

"After my boyfriend and I had been going out a year he pretended like he had nothing planned. He said we were going out for dinner, so I got all dressed up and he pulled into the McDonald's. Now by this time I was mad! But it turns out his friend who worked there was holding his stuff in the office. Minutes later he came walking out in the tux, with a handfull of roses and candy. Now knowing it was a joke I was really relieved. We ended up driving to this little hill and having a romantic picnic under the stars, lying there and just talking. Then we went down and walked on the beach under the moon." -Marleen

"When he took me to the same place (down by the river, and under the street light) that we had our first kiss to propose to me." -Lisa

"My husband and I got into a little spat... and decided to take a walk. He went down to local store, bought flowers, paper and a pen and wrote me a poem. He rang our doorbell and left it on the front door step. After I read it and was crying he walked back into the house. I still have the poem to this day." -Shirley

"My husband surprised me and took a day off from work when our daughter was in school. We picked up sandwiches and drinks at the deli and then headed for a drive through the poppy fields in the Lancaster area of California. We had our picnic on the top of a hill with a view of the poppy fields all around us. It was beautiful." -terry

"When my husband and I were dating, I was driving home from his house one night and was listening to the radio when my husband called the radio station and dedicated a love song to me, which 2 years later became our wedding song." -Raquel

"When my husband proposed - with my ring in a package of lifesavers." -Ellen Lanterman

"Me and my ex-boyfriend Joey were laying in my bed, and I asked, "What are you thinking about baby?" He replied, "You, and how beautiful your eyes are." I just smiled and kissed him gently." -Tiffany

"I had been sick in bed all day. I hadn't washed my hair, had on no makeup, had a big red nose from blowing it all day, and was wearing ratty, old, baggy pajamas. My boyfriend came over and looked me in the eyes and told me I was beautiful. I could tell he meant it." -Jill

"When my love e-mailed me a list of reasons why he adored and loved me! It was romantic and it made me cry!" -Nicole Perkins

"On New Year's Eve on the millennium I had to work until 11:00 and had been there since 8:00am. I was exhausted and I walked through the door to a romantic candlelit dinner for two. Complete with crystal year 2000 champagne glasses. What a sweetie he is!" -Marisol Wilson
