Why are you so sad?

I wish I could make it right.

If I could hold you in my arms

I am sure would feel happy and bright.

Why are you so unhappy?

I wish there was something I could do.

I would offer you the world,

if I thought you would feel less blue.

Why are you so unsettled?

Is it something on your mind?

Or is it emotional pain of

something You have not left behind?

Is it the future that you fear

Uncertain of what it may hold.

With all its traps and pitfalls

it can seem so callous and cold.

Can it be loneliness that troubles you?

With no one with whom you can share

Your innermost thoughts and feelings

and trusting that the person will truly care?

Sadness, loneliness and pain are

troubling at the best.

Change requires a new attitude.

Applying it is truly the test.

Remember that you are worthy of

the better things in life.

Peace of mind and self respect

Are really not that hard to find.

Courage to make the right decisions

are certainly not out of sight.

To follow your inner instinct

usually means you are right.

If you fall short of your desired goal;

do not be too distressed!

For we all have human shortcomings

and the best we can have is progress.

Remember that you are beautiful,

witty, intelligent and kind.

You have much to offer this world

in soul, body and mind.

You have a purpose on this earth

although it may not be clear.

By having faith and trust it will be disclosed

with the passing of every year.

You will never have to feel alone.

For I will always be near.

Just think of me when you are distressed.

I know that things will become clear.

A friend forever is a treasure indeed

And that is what I offer to You.

In good times and bad we can share together

whatever may come out of the blue.

You can always feel safe to share with me

Your innermost thoughts and dreams.

My promise to you is that I will not judge
