St. Bernadette

Bernadette was born Jan.7, 1844 in Lourdes, France.
She was stricken with asthma and had frequent attacks
since her family lived in an old jail turned into a home.
When she was a young teen, her, her sister, her sister's friend
went to gather firewood.
Bernadette stopped to rest and the others went on.
While she was alone, she saw the Blessed Mother,
although she did not know it was her.
Over the course of time, she saw Mary many times.
No one believed her till Mary asked her to dig int he dirt.
from a little scrachting grew a well of water
which turned into a stream.
Many miracles have been made with this holy water.
The first was a stone cutter that had one eye
that had gone blind from carving a statue of Mary
and a piece of stone hit his eye, causing damage.
He put the holy water in his eyes and he could see!

The other first miracle was a baby that was dieing.
He had been having fits all his young life
He was paralized and was near death.
They told her the baby would not live throught the night.
The mother bathed the baby boy in the Holy Waters
and he cried and moved for the first time.
He not only lived but walked and ran as well.

Bernadette entered the Convent and at age 35,
she died of Teberculosis.

Many still are cured by the Miraculous waters.

Bernadette asleep at prayers
This is the incorrupt body of St. Bernadette
as it is preserved even to this day!
