St. Stanislas Kostka


Born at Rostkovo near Prasnysz, Poland,
about 28 October, 1550.
He was the second of 7 children.
AS a young child, he was very spiritual.
At 14, he entered a Jesuit school with his older brother, Paul.
Paul had always badly treated him
but Stanislaus was known to endure the pain quietly.

While still a young teen, he became gravely ill.
He prayed to St. Barbara who
appeared to him with two angles.
The angels gave him communnion.
Soon he was cured.

He entered the Society of Jesus
against his fathers wishes.
And became a Jesuit priest. He was known for his piety and
inner spirituallity.
At the young age of 18, he fell ill.
He died 15 August, 1568.
Witnesses of his death, recount-
his face was aglow with love and peace.
He is the patron saint of teens,
the abused chldren and broken bones.
