The Kitch - Garrison genealogy list.

This is an attempt to help to know who we are,
and remember where we came from; these are the "Roots" that have
nourished our blossoming trees, allowing us to grow. It is dedicated to
all who have paved the roads for us, and the world we live in.

If any errors are found I would like to correct them, or if you would just like to tell me about the ancestors you found here,  please contact me at: jerrygarrison@yahoo.com .  I do try and reply to all who write.  This revision may have changed a search engine referral page; if so, please

"The community was greatly shocked Monday to hear of the death of Mrs Martin V Kitch, a well known Bremen lady, who had been ill only a few days. Just about a week ago, while attending the funeral of a former neighbor, the late Joseph Senff, she contracted a cold which quickly became worse, terminating into pneaumonia of a malignant form.
Amanda M Kitch was born near South Bend, Indiana, November 12, 1844, and died December 7, 1908, at Bremen, Indiana, being 64 years and 25 days of age. She was the daughter of Samuel and Malinda Lehr, both deceased, who were pioneers who came from Ohio and settled in Indiana in the early days.
She was married to Martin V Kitch September 3, 1865, and to this union were born 5 sons and one daughter; two sons dying in childhood preseded her to the future world.
She united with the United Brethren Church at North Union as one of the charter members, where she held her relation until this year, 1908, at which time with her husband was united by letter to the Salem Evangelical Church of Bremen. She was a faithful christian during her life, always doing active work for the good of religion.
She leaves to mourn her departure a husband, three sons, John W of South Bend, Indiana; Edward of this place; Ira F of Bourbon; one daughter, Della M, who is still at home with her father, four brothers and two sisters: Charles A Lehr, S. G. Lehr, and Mrs Wm May of Bremen, Indiana, Mrs D.M. Becker and Mrs John W Lehr of South Bend, Indiana; J Wesley Lehr of St Joseph, MO, five grandchildren, and a host of friends.
The funeral services were held this morning at 10:30 at the Salem Evangelical church, conducted by Rev B Schuermeier, assisted by Rev N.L. Stambaugh.

This page was made possible through the help of many people.

First, and foremost, I want to thank my ancestors, without whom I wouldn't be here, and without whom I wouldn't be the same person I am.  Second, all of the people on the Kitch-L list who have helped and given encouragement, but especially for the major contributions by Linda (Antram) Smith and Tom Kitch; these two furnished both inspiration and names and dates, as well as a sounding board for my ideas.  In addition I have had help and support from too many others to name here.  It is appreciated, and as long as we keep living, our genealogy will continue growing.
