(Susan's own words) "I am going to run a marathon for AIDS. I have never done this before (the most I have ever run was 3 miles). So this is a great challenge for me. AIDS as you know is a serious problem. Please help AIDS and help me by donating and supporting this crazy endeavor of mine.
PS. It is a donation and therefore tax deductible."

Susan has
run 26.2 miles in the Sunday morning Chicago
Marathon (time 6 hours & 41 min). The weather was very nice (in the
50's) for Chicago down town. Her training area was at the AIDs training center in Manhattan
Beach, Ca. She is now recuperating from the Chicago Marathon run as her body
adjusts back to normal. Marc
has finished helping each Sunday at water stops along
the jogging path. Susan has been running with two groups (13min or 14min)
depending on the pace set for the training run by Linda Francisco her coach. Susan
is running in her new running shoes (1/2 size larger than the old shoes). On the
longer runs your feet swell up more, so a bigger shoe size is required. Susan
has been using Patt-Strap bands just above her knee to help with I-T Band
problems. The Sun mostly has
been cooperating each Sunday morning by staying behind clouds. During a training marathon in Marina Del
Rey, Susan only finished 18 miles (got lots
of hugs). She rested her knees with shorter runs which helped the BIG day
October 22nd in Chicago! Also we have been
taking some shorter runs (8mi or less) up at Big Bear, where Susan runs along
the North side of the lake road and bike path, while Marc rides for support :-)
Now after the run in Chicago, Susan plans on running 1/2 Marathons to keep in shape (only 13.1 miles.... its
a snap!)
