this morning in the Calumet Public Hospital following a long illness.

He was born in Lake Linden July 1, 1888, a son of Mr. and Mrs. William
Wareham and attended the Lake Linden School.

Mr. Wareham was first employed by the Copper Range Railroad at the Lake
Linden freight station after first being a clerk in the Lake Linden
Cooperative Store.

On October 11, 1912 he transferred to the Houghton Freight Station as
cashier under the Supervision of C.L. Roche. This was one of 20 agency
stations on the line at the time.

He next moved to the Lake Linden station as agent on December 8, 1916 and
remained there until September 27, 1918. He again moved to Houghton and
was chief clerk in the traffic department until December 21, 1918, when
he again returned to Lake Linden.

On February 1, 1944 he accepted the job of agent in the Calumet Station,
remaining there until his retirement. He made his home on Sixth Street.

He was the oldest employee of the railraod in point of service and earned
a host of friends through his kindly associations and sterling
character.

Mr. Wareham married the former Myrtle Bryant of Calumet on October 27,
1944. He was a member of the Lake Linden Methodist Church and was a life
member of Houghton Lodge, No. 218, F.&A.M.

The wife and several nieces, nephews and cousins survive.

The body is in the Pearce Funeral Home where friends may call from 10
a.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 to 10 p.m. Sunday.

Funeral services will be held Manday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home, the
Rev. Edward Tillitz to Officiate. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
