Children of James Marion Mann

Mysteries

There was no Mann's listed in the 1830 Harris County census.  1840 census, there is: Millnen Distrct No. 1 Asa Mann Male 2(0-5), 1(10-15), 1(40-50), 1(50-60) Female 1(0-5), 1(30-40). Apparently James moved there between 1841/1845 when he married Martha Jane Bearden 31 Oct 1845. He remained there for the 1850 but moved by the 1860 census where I find him in Tallapoosa Co., AL. He moved to Clay Co., AL by the 1880 census where he lived out the rest of his life.

In the County Line Cemetery buried next to the Mann family is:
Griffin, Silas U. born 17 Feb. 1847-10 Aug 1908
Ann D. 28 Oct 1848-28 Mar 1914
Eunice L. 15 Aug 1912-18 Jun 1913
Lula W. 19 May 1890-11 Dec 1963
Curtis D. 17 Jun 1881-23 Feb 1958
Carrie E. 19 Oct 1885-22 Nov 1918
Hattie Mae 29 Oct 1914-14 Oct 1953
Carrie W. born & died 1934
I would like to find the connection of these Griffin's to Ann D. Mann Griffin and Silas Griffin

Unsure of the connection but James M. Mann married Mary V. Price, 29 Jan 1874, by Thos. B. Fargason. M.G. in Tallapossa Co., AL.  There are no other James Mann's listed but several show the initial J. Mann only. James Mann last appears with his parents on the 1870 census in Tallapossa Co., AL.

Sarah J. Mann I believe is the one listed in the Clay Co marriage book as applying for a license to marry Enoch J. Mays License was issued on Dec 11, 1875 but is marked "No Return"

Children of Alonzo Mann

Allie P. Mann and James R. Mann I have lost track of due to the fact that I have been unable to locate a copy of the Clay Co. 1910 or 1920 census. If you have access to either of these please contact me.

I also lost track of Lonnie C. Mann after the 1900 census. I picked him back up in the 1920 census in Covington Co., MS.

The only thing I know on Billy Mann is that he died at age 6 from drowning in a stock pond. The oldest child is 4 in the 1880 Clay Co. census. It is possible that Billy was the oldest and could be buried in either Tallapossa or Clay Co. I am unsure of any other children born between 1880 and 1910. The oldest child living with them in 1900 was born in 1883. So there is a a 6 year gap between children. The rest of their children were born 2 to 3 years apart except for Lonnie and James who were born 4 years apart.

Children of Franklin Pierce Mann

The obituary of Robert L. Mann lists Mrs. J. M. Reagan of Montezuma, GA as a sister.
