Paedophilia at 'epidemic' levels

Paedophilia is at epidemic levels in Australia yet most sections of the comunity deny knowledge of it, a world-renowned forensic psychiatrist has warned.
Dr William Glaser, a leading figure in the treatment of child sexual abuse, is calling for the formation of a centralised agency to monitor paedophilia, advise governments and to coordinate the "widest range" of action in the area.
Dr Glaser, who will be a keynote speaker at an Australian Institute of Criminology conference beginning on Monday in Sydney, Paedophilia - Policy and Prevention, said it was frightening to think that children were the majority of victims of all forms of sexual crime.
