[NI2762] Matthew Marvin, age 35, and wife Elizabeth, age 31, and 4 children (Elizabeth, 11; Matthew, 8; Marie, 6; Sara, 3; and Hanna, 1/2), emigrated 15 Apr 1635 on the "Increase". Their roots were probably Co Essex in England. Matthew's father was probably Reinold. Matthew and his brother Reinold, who came on a different ship, were among the original settlers of Hartford, CT. Reinold moved to Saybrook, CT. Matthew Marvin was survey or highways in 1639 and 1647. He was one of the signers of the agreement for planting Norwalk, 19 June 1650. His name is among those of the planters who received a deed from Runckinheage, 15 Feb 1651, and he was one of the original proprietors of the town. He was deputy, 1654. Will dated 20 Dec 1678. Inventory 12 Jul 1680.

[NI7401] Alice was the daughter of Thomas and Annis (Hare?) Kellogg.
