(this
site best viewed at 800x600 resolution)

I'd like to take this
opportunity to welcome you to my site.

My name is Di and although
there are a number of topics I'd like to introduce you to throughout these
pages, I want you to consider this a place of warmth and welcoming to the
heart and soul.

I am currently married
to a wonderful man whom I'll be talking about within this site along with
being the step-mother of a 12 year old daughter. I consider myself
very family oriented and would like to add a "positive" "educational" and
"uplifting" difference to the internet.

I am almost 40 years old
and have lived in Canada all of my life.
Due to some past experiences
in my life, I've decided to open up this site and share my heart with you.
Some of these topics are very personal and I am hoping that if just one
person becomes a bit more educated or leaves after learning something by
my sharing some of my experiences, then I will have gone through them for
a positive reason.
I would like
to use this site as a communicator to turn this negative experience into
a positive one and to raise awareness of the general population.
Perhaps I will be given the opportunity to lend my voice to the voiceless
who are not being heard.

Fortunately or unfortunately
(depending on how you look at things), I am a very outspoken person and
have a tendency to call things as I see them. I always try to point
out the good in every situation, due to the fact that I don't hesitate
to mention the bad.

I have been questioned
about the title of this site. My attitude towards that is, I've been
through my own personal form of hell and what exactly is the opposite of
hell? I firmly believe I am a SURVIVOR.
The above is a gift and
not an award.
The following
message was received with this gift:
"I am so happy and honored
to send you my survivor gift. Of all the things on my homepage, this
is the one thing I am most proud of and the one thing that is most dear
to me.
The human spirit never
ceases to amaze me. No matter what obsticales are thrown in our paths,
we continue on. Not only do we continue, we learn from these things
and we get stronger!
I created this gift as
my way of saying how proud I am of you. You are truly a survivor!
I hope you enjoy this gift...and I hope it brings a little smile to your
day."

Some topics may not be
suitable for very young eyes. I do plan on discussing such issues
as "mental health" and "chronic pain".

I will promise you there
will be no pornography, no hate or foul language. I will do my best
to ensure that all links to this site are similar in nature with regards
to the values I hold and cherish deeply.
I hope you will enjoy
your visit and would appreciate it very much if you would take a moment
to sign my guestbook before you leave.

Without input from you
the viewer, I will never know you've been here or have the opportunity
to repay your kindness and visit your site in return.

As this is a work in progress
and therapy for me, this site may be slow in updating. Please
be patient while I work on composing these pages and I promise I'll do
my best to make it worth a return visit to my site.

I dedicate this site to
the love of my life, my husband. For without him, I would not have
had the courage to write my stories and would probably not be here to share
them.

Well, now that you know
a bit about me, shall we continue?

"Don't
walk in front of me, I may not follow.
Don't
walk behind me, I may not lead.
Walk
beside me and be my friend."
~Albert
Camus~

If you are looking for
a very nice card shoppe to send cards for any and all occasions and are
looking for a vast selection, you may wish to try AngelEyes Card Shoppe

I have now installed
a message board where YOU, the viewer may leave your comments, suggestions,
questions, etc. This message board may be used by all. Please
feel free to write messages (questions or comments) or even pose a different
point of view. You may want to comment on a previous thread of conversation
or start a new one.

It is my hope
that this site will continue to provide an uplifting point of view and
I am hoping that you the viewer can contribute to this. If you have
something uplifting or informative, please ensure you share it with the
rest of us. I'm well aware that not all posts will be positive in
nature due to the subject matter.

I do have a few requests
with regards to the use of this message board. PLEASE no profanities.
If you are looking for answers to a question, consider posting it through
the message board. I've always believed that no question is a "stupid"
question, that's how we all learn. If you know of a site similar
to this one that would benefit another viewer, please feel free to leave
the URL (no porn/hate sites please). Sorry for standing on my soap
box for so long, however, I want to ensure that this message board is an
asset and not a liability to this site.

If someone posts a message
about their feelings, please do not argue with that person about their
feelings. That is how the person is currently feeling and you can't
argue with that. Do not invalidate a person's feelings
(although you may be only trying to help). Feelings are real and
these feelings are theirs. This way, the person and their feelings
are not being invalidated.

It is with the deepest
of appreciation, honour and excitement that I display the above award.
This site will also be listed as a Site Of The Week on Thursday, October
19, 2000. I don't generally post awards on my index pages, however,
this Personal Web Pages @ About.com Featured Site Award has made
me very excited. Thank You Linda!!!

Thank you Bev from
the bottom of my heart
for designing such an
amazing set. Never in my
life have I come across
a set of graphics that
caught my attention for
the appropriateness of
what I was looking for.
Thanks also for being
so kind and sharing your
work through linkware.
I would like to take this
opportunity to thank
Lisa for the wonderful
"My Piece Of Heaven"
Banner displayed above.
It's absolutely beautiful.
