BUPPET PATCH
Requirements:
Brownie Girl Scouts complete six (6) activities
Junior Girl Scouts complete eight (8) activities
Cadette and Senior Girl Scouts complete nine (9) activities

1. List 10 places you and your troop can go on the bus.

2. There are rules when riding a bus, name five and discuss why
each of them is so important (use Safety-Wise Girl Scouts of U.S.A.)

3. Find out the cost for a one-way bus ride for:
a student
a child
an infant
an adult
a senior citizen
a handicapped person
how much will it cost you round trip?

4. Know where to get a bus schedule and learn how to read it.
OR
Know the number for VIA schedule information and practice with someone else the questions you will need to ask them.

5. Find out where the nearest bus stop is to your house or troop meeting place. What street is it on? What is the bus number? Draw a map showing the way to the bus stop.

6. Discuss with your troop/group what bus tokens, passes, and transfers are and when and how to use them.

7. Discuss briefly the history of public transportation. Name one advantage to using public transportation instead of private vehicles.

8. Visit the VIA information center; what do the colors and numbers on the buses mean?
OR
Invite someone who rides the bus often to speak to your troop/group about bus riding.

9. Take a bus trip with your troop/group!!!
