I've been a born again Christian since 1982.
I grew up with the knowledge
of God in heaven and His Son who died on the cross.
I went to church most Sundays, Easter, and Christmas,
and prayed in times of trouble, and even sang in
the youth choir. All the things a good girl should do.
What was missing for me,
was a personal walk with Jesus .
When I realized that Jesus cared
about me personally  and  all the aspects of my life, would
always be with me, suffered that death on the cross for me.
It was both an overwhelming and humbling experience.
I planned to get close to God,
when I got old but, He had other plans.
to lead me out of  darkness.
I rejected them both but with time,
He softened my heart and I asked Him
into my heart.
I wish I could say that my life
has been bliss since then, quite the contrary
but all lives have their struggles.
I truly wouldn't want my life without Him.

This is something more I'd like to share!
It might help us to think about
how we live our daily lives.

If Jesus Came to your House

If   Jesus  came  to your house to spend a day or two-
If He came unexpectedly, I wonder what you'd do.
Oh,I know you'd give your nicest room to such an honoured Guest,
And you would keep assuring Him you're glad to have Him there-
That serving Him in your own home is joy beyond compare
But when you saw Him coming, would you meet Him at the door-
Or would you have to change your clothes before you let Him in?
Would you, turn off the radio and hope, He hadn't heard?
And wish you hadn't uttered that last, loud, hasty word?
Would you hide your wordly music and put some hymn books out
Would your family conversation keep up its usual pace
And would you find it hard each meal to say a table grace?
Would you sing the songs you always sing, and read the books you read,
And let Him know the things on which your mind and spirit fed?
Would you take Jesus with you everywhere you'd planned to go?
Or would you, maybe, change your plans for just a day or so?
Would you be glad to have Him meet your very closest friends?
Or would you hope they'd stay away until His visit ends?
Would you sigh with great relief when He at last was gone?
It might be interesting to know the things that you would do
If Jesus Christ in person came, to spend some time with you.

The Station

Tucked away in our subconscious is an idyllic vision.
We see ourselves on a long trip that spans the continent.
We are travelling by train. Out the windows we drink
in the passing scene of cars on nerby highways, of
children waving at a crossing, of cattle grazing on
a distant hillside, of smoke pouring from a power plant,
of row upon row of corn and wheat, of flatlands and
valleys, of mountains and rolling hillsides, of city
skylines and village halls.

But uppermost in our minds is the final destination.
On a certain day at a certain hour we will pull into
the station. Bands will be playing and flags waving.
Once we get there so many wonderful dreams will come
true and the pieces of our lives will fit together like
a completed jigsaw puzzle. How restlessly we pace the
aisles, damning the minutes for loitering-
waiting, waiting, waiting for the station.

"When we reach the station, that will be it!
"When I"m 18."
"When I buy a new 450 SL Mercedes Benz!"
"When I put the last kid through college."
"When I get that promotion."
"When I reach the age of retirement, I shall live
happily ever after!"

Sooner or later we must realize ther is no station,
no one place to arrive at once and for all. The true
joy of life is the trip. The station is only a dream.
It constanly out distances us.

"Relish the moment" is a good motto, especially when
coupled with Psalm 118:24
"This is the day which the Lord hath made:
we will rejoice and be glad in it."
It isn't the burdens of today that drive men made.
It is the regrets over yesterday and the fear of
tomorrow. Reget and fear are twin thieves
who rob us of today.

So, stop pacing the aisles and counting the miles.
Instead, climb more mountains, eat more ice cream,
go barefoot more ofted, swim more river,
watch more sunsets, laugh more, cry less.
Life must be lived as we go along.
The station will come soon enough
