What a wonderful holiday! And what a wonderful time of year!
I love Spring, don't you? Yes, I know it is not technically Spring yet, especially not here in the Seattle Washington area! According to my records, Thursday, March 4, 1999 was the 94th day of rain. We definitely went past the record for number of days in a row of rain. I think that even the most seasoned Seattle-ites and those who love the rain were definitely praying for some good ol' fashioned SUNSHINE! I am very happy to say that at the moment we do have that much needed sunshine, I hope it lasts just a little bit longer, but I am certainly not going to hold my breath. LOL!
Wait a minute...this is supposed to be an Easter page, not a Seattle weather page! So I'll get on with the Easter stuff.

First of all, I would like to ask, "What is Easter?"
Good question, huh? If you ask your children that question they may say it is the holiday when the Easter Bunny comes and hides eggs in your yard and leaves you a basket full of candy and toys. Of course that is a big part of Easter to most children. I hope that many of them also know the real reason for this holiday as well. If they don't, then I would like to pause for a moment and challenge you all to teach your children the reason we celebrate Easter-The resurrection of Jesus. Yes, that is the real reason!
For some valuable reading on the subject, open up your bible if you have one; if not check this web site and read the chapters listed. They are the ones that cover the subject of Jesus' resurrection.
Matthew
Mark Chapter 16
Luke Chapter 24
John Chapter 20
