Our Vacation started out simply enough

in St. Louis

Here is the lovely view from our balcony window

Little did we know when we embarked from St. Louis for Springfield, Missouri that we were going to have a.....

Wild Animal Adventure!!!!

camel

Here's one of the "friends" we met while visiting the Exotic Animal Park near Springfield.

bambi

We saw lots of deer - all sorts. There were bunches of babies, too!

window deer

They gave us food to feed the animals so many came right up to the windows to eat. (some of the mommies and babies were shy and we threw the food out to them). The food was supposed to be for any animal with hoofs.

emu

Try telling this emu that he doesn't have hoofs! These guys made me think we were in the "Lost World" - but they're not really dangerous, they just look that way.

llama

Now, it's perfectly ok to feed you.

ostrich

Hey there! What'ya doin'?

ostrich

Say Cheese!

water buffalo

Water Buffalo?

buffalo

We were really surprised when these big buffalo also came right over to the car and stuck their heads in the window! Ever been slobbered on by a buffalo?

I have.....

Now, the giraffes have much better manners.....and they have soft little muzzles, too.

Well, that concludes my story for now. I have to wait to get the photos that Gertie and Barbara took....so there may be additions.
