Dickens is a beautiful grey persian whose owner didn't want to care for him. So he was surrendered to the SPCA, sick and so covered with knots, sores and fleas that they had to shave off all of his beautiful fur!! Imagine the indignity of it! Purrs, I'm Boomer, I was rescued from a Humane Society as a kitten so I know I'm lucky as my time there was short. I'm now 6 years old and I see just how lucky I was that I am able to live in a GOOD home, not all are so fortunate. Remember these shelters also can use your help with foster care for mothers and kittens or pets who need extra helping and healing time. Its simple, they just need love until they are adoptable, 10 weeks for kittens from our shelter. My family has done it quite a few times and I love it. A place with some play room and loving cuddles does wonders for a kittens most impressionable time, as compared to living those first 10 weeks in a small cage. Something to think about. Sweeney, the orange tabby, was found on the streets in August 1998. Read more about her here. Daisy, the little white baby (born on May 6, 1999) has been helping to sooth her mommy's pain after her beloved Dolly and Blacky crossed the rainbow bridge. Daisy was adopted in a time when her mom wasn't thinking of adopting another cat so soon after her loss, but just look at her! Read more about Daisy here.

Hi, my name is Autumn and I was rescued from a shelter by my mommy and daddy. I was sitting in my litter box when mommy picked me! I started to purr as soon as I saw her. My family is really nice, you should visit us at Mew-Mew Milieu, have a cup of catnip tea and a cozy visit. We're waiting to see you. My mommy says the best kitties come from the shelter, I have to agree!

My name is Sabrina and I was adopted July 1999 by two kind humans named Ev and Marie. They were at the shelter looking for a kitten to be a playmate for their other cat Calvin. They looked all around the shelter and saw this cage with little ole me inside and my littermate. My brother was very active and I thought for a minute they were going to adopt him, but my Meowmie said that she wanted to look at that little quiet black cat in the corner. So, they got me out and fell in love with me. They took me home and I've been loved ever since. (Well, it took a while for Calvin to warm up to me.)
