Meet new member SnowPuff!
My name is SnowPuff. I'm a cat who is a super pampered pet in that I have
survived against incredible odds. I have kidney disease. In May 1998, my mistress found out from our vet that I was dying from kidney
disease. The vet recommended having me put humanely to sleep. However, he
also said he could try treating me, but didn't hold out much hope for my
survival. So my mistress decided to give me a chance to live and opted to
have the vet treat me. After a week in the animal hospital in intensive
care, in which I received fluids and medication and many tests, I was sent
home. My mistress began a program of forcefeeding me on a special diet Hill
's Science Diet puts out called Feline K/D. She also gave me my medicine in
pill form and gave me fluids provided by our vet. After a few months on this
treatment, I gained my weight back and got over being dehydrated. In fact,
I have recovered so well, I even like to run, jump, and play! I run marathons
across my mistress' bed every morning to wake her up, by jumping back and
forth over her sleeping body till she gets up!!! The vet called me a miracle
cat and I am just that. I was expected to die. They didn't give me more than
a month to live. But I fooled them! I have lived for more than two years since
my brush with death. Although I will always have kidney disease and must be
constantly tended to with special diet and medications, I am a vibrant,
healthy, happy boy today. To my mistress, I will always be her super
pampered pet, the cat that defied death and won! It just goes to show you,
you can't keep a good cat down!
