On 30 Jul 1840, at the church in Bordelum,  he married Sophia Catharina Ketelsen. Sophia was born 5 Sep 1812 in Vollstedt, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. Adolph and Sophia had four children, Thomas Christian born 4 Mar 1841 and died 3 Feb 1842, Thomas Christian born 12 Nov 1842, Peter Ketel born 1 Apr 1845 and Sophia Catharina born 8 Dec 1847. All four of the children were born in Högel, Schleswig- Holstein, Germany. Adolph died 21 Sep 1883 and Sophia died 5 Oct 1876. Both are buried at Pinehill Cemetery, Davenport, Scott Co., IA. Peter never married and died in a wagon accident in Granada, CO 8 Sep 1906. Thomas had his body brought back to be buried with his parents.  Sophia married Henry Meyer 29 Sep 1869 in Davenport, Scott Co., IA. She died 24 Jul 1910 and is buried at Pinehill Cemetery near her parents.</div> <bR> </td> </tr></table></body>
