Thomas and Elizabeth lived on a small farm in Scott Co., IA until after the death of Thomas father Adolph in 1883 when they moved to Brule Co., SD.
There they had a magnificent ranch with an artecian well and tree lined drive. Thomas and Elizabeth farmed there until about 1910 when they returned to Davenport, Scott Co., IA.
Thomas and Elizabeth bought a house at 1323 Vine
St. in Davenport and remained there until Elizabeth's
death 17 Apr 1914. She is buried at Pinehill Cem.,
Davenport, Scott Co., IA.
Thomas sold the house and spent the remainder of his days living with his children. Part of the time he lived with Anna and her husband Jake Jurgensen in Chamberlain, Brule Co., SD and part of the time with Adolph and his wife Minnie in Rock Rapids, Lyon Co., IA. Thomas was living with Adolph when he passed away 30 Nov 1919. His remains were returned to Davenport to be laid to rest beside his wife.
