Hansen and Related Families
Most of the Hansen side of the family came from Nordfriesland, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. For many generations my ancestors stayed in the same village or moved only a few kilometers down the road to a nearby village. One farm was passed from generation to generation. The original building is gone but the material from that building was used to build two other buildings, one of which still stands today.
Many of the villages of my Hansen ancestors can be found in this little section of Germany. This map is about 14 miles by 22 miles. The major villages are Högel, Dörpum, and Vollstedt, you'll find them in the northern section of the map.
My Clasen ancestors came from Friedrichstadt, in the lower section of the map.
My Willrodt family came from a village north of Kiel called Danischenhagen.
My Klahn ancestors came from Großenaspe, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. You'll find it just south of Neumünster.
