Gifted or cursed? Good or evil? Sane or insane?
These questions and others have surrounded Melanie Brown since her abilities began manifesting at age 5.
Ms Brown was raised by her Grandma Dean in an atmosphere of support and acceptance. Although her grandmother recognized no psychic abilities in herself, she was open minded enough to recognize and accept them in others, and gave Melanie the freedom to explore her own gifts.
Grandma Dean was especially encouraging in matters close to home, such as when the young Melanie would massage her feet. Her grandmother recognized that her young granddaughter had a "special touch" and encouraged her use of it.
At her grandmothers death in 1980, Ms Brown set out on a quest to discover a place for herself, where she could utilize her gifts of empathy, clairvoyance, and healing.
Ms Brown was perhaps influenced by her grandmothers appreciation as a child when she opted to study the art of foot reflexology. Yet her abilities augmented her training and she found that a simple foot massage could become a connection to the soul.
After a near death experience in 1995, Ms Brown felt called to include another dimension to her counseling. She began working with dying patients, easing their minds and helping them to accept the cross over.
For a time Ms Brown found a niche in Orofino, Idaho. While living there she traveled to Lewiston for private readings and seminars, was ordained in the SHES ministry, certified as a healer, and accepted as an earth steward. During this time Ms Brown also founded H.E.A.R.T.
The H.E.A.R.T. center is still in its infancy but Ms Brown has a vision of a time when people in need can go there to heal their mind, body and spirit, and esoteric knowlege such as hers can be shared. Ms Brown says "There is a place where we can gather for the highest good of all mankind. This place will help all that come seeking enlightment and healing. In the common good of all we will grow together and learn. This place comes from the heart for everyone and flows to the heart of all." She accredits this to her spirit guide, Anthony.
Melanie Brown does not ask a fee for her sessions, knowing that not all who need her could pay. She does gratefully accept donations for the H.E.A.R.T. center.
